i met gabriel not long after moving to alabama in 3rd grade. my life would change forevermore the moment he complimented my crybaby band tee on the bus as over the last 9 years i began to know the beautiful soul that gabriel dawned. the boy who would help me put a bandaid on my knees at recess. the boy who had let me cry into his arms when our favorite rapper, xxxtentacion died. the boy who’d stay up all night playing on his computer with me and my cousin whenever we asked. i found myself over the years blessed with a creative, selfless, hilarious, extraordinary person to be around. if only i knew how little time id have with such a miracle, i would have given him the world for the little time he’d be here and reminded him everyday of how loved he was. gabriel, every moment i spent being babysat at your house by your wonderful mom, on the xbox hearing you on my headset, or wrapped in your warm, healing hug, is a moment i will replay everyday until my time is up as well. you were the most kind and loving individual i had the pleasure of being around. thank you for the countless memories you offered, the gut-tightening laughs you supplied, and the endless empathy and love you had for me. i’m sorry i couldn’t fight your demons for you. you filled every room you entered with laughter, and every person who’s life you entered you mesmerized them with your shine, your smile, your energy. you were the sun. i will spend everyday i have left of this life living it to the fullest, in hopes you are standing right by my side, watching it through my eyes, holding my hand. i promise to take care of your mom and your sisters so dont worry abt them.
i will miss you forever, the lack of your presence has left a void unable to be filled ever again. like a combustable comet passing the sky once in a million years or a rare astrological event such as the one that graced our sky the night we lost you, you can never be replaced or replicated. we all love you and know that wherever you are, you are at peace and saving us a seat. until i see you again, my friend.

tupac was my half brother’s mother’s favorite artist. tisha loved this song especially. she passed away from complications related to domestic violence in september 2016. i think about what she would think of this all the time. but i keep my head up, just like she would have wanted me to.

choir has been my entire life since i started in sixth grade. ive always loved performing ever since i was little, especially singing, and the idea of being in a group of people who shared that passion with me had me in love from the first note i sang with them. ive watched all these lovely people grow and accept each other through thick and thin and ive never been more proud or honored to have been a part of such a special group. i hope we all keep the music and memories in our hearts forever. yall are my home and i can’t wait see how this program lives on without me. @jchs_choir by @hannah.h333

what an honor to share a stage with such immense talent and extreme dedication. this was a spectacular show on everyones accord and i love every connection i made because of this experience. my heart is newly melted for sure. thank you great comet cast and crew for an amazing senior show <3
