Even if we didn’t make it to the top of Mount Rinjani, driving to the north of Lombok was already worth it for this view alone. 🏔️✨

The whole area feels like a charming little mountain village (at 1.000 above sea level), surrounded by lush green hills, fresh air, and some of the most beautiful scenery we’ve seen on Lombok.

Whilst everyone is sweating their asses off in South Lombok, you even need long trousers and a sweater at night. We were sitting by the campfire, eating marshmallows, watching the stars and it was truly incredible. 🥹🔥✨

If hiking all the way to Rinjani’s summit feels a bit too challenging, don’t worry - you can still explore several smaller peaks nearby and enjoy incredible views of the volcano without the demanding trek.

And if you’re up for an adventure, there are amazing 2- or 3-day guided hikes to the summit. Spending the night on the mountain, watching both sunset and sunrise above the clouds, must be an unforgettable experience.

It’s definitely one of the reasons why we’ll be coming back to Lombok one day. 🫶🏻

🐬 Make sure to find a guide who takes a different route than aaaalll the other boats to make sure the dolphins feel safe.
🌋 One of the best experiences! Make sure to bring warmer clothes. We were freezing our asses off at the top.
🛖 This place is called Kubu d‘Ume on Airbnb. Make sure to only go if you want absolutely quietness. There is not much to do there but it’s very close to the famous Jatiluwih Rice Terraces.
💦 Before you go into the water you will get the special sarong and pray for anything you wish for.
🌾 The Jatiluwih Rice Terraces are the biggest ones in Bali. Because they are so far away from everything, we didn’t see many people around (we went there at 10 am).
💃 This traditional dance takes place every Wednesday and Saturday. But there are also other temples who do these dances on different days.
🧜 Besides the well known Sekumpul waterfall, there is Aling Aling which is not too far and not crowded at all. You can also slide down the waterfall if you want.
🏠 This place is called „Green Paradise“ and it’s located in Seseh, which is only a 15 min ride with the scooter from Canggu but still very quiet if you want to escape the crowds.
🛕 I am absolutely amazed by how beautiful Balinese temples are. This one is for free by the way.
🏎️ We booked this via GetYourGuide and had an amazing experience. Make sure to bring a second set of clothes as you might get wet.
💍 The perfect reminder for our travels. It has a wavy shape and it says „sein“ (to be) which is just the perfect description of what we are trying to do here. 🥹

Did you know Bali has dolphins?? 🐬💦
I had no idea until recently and I am soooo happy that we went all the way to the north to see them. 🥹✨

Make sure to find a guide that takes a different route than the usual boats. We were almost completely by ourselves and it felt unreal. ✨ And what mattered most to me was that it felt like a very respectful way to observe the dolphins, with very few boats and people around. 🙏🏻🤍
