We’re excited to introduce our new Faculty Spotlight series, where we celebrate the artists, curators, writers, and educators whose practices and perspectives shape the Yellow Chair Salon community.

This week, we’re featuring Hannah Beerman, artist and leader of our Fall 2026 POD, ‘Experimental Painting Practices’.

Hannah’s work explores themes of play, loss, survival, and desire through an expansive material practice that embraces experimentation, curiosity, and risk. In her POD, artists will work in intimate groups while receiving individualized mentorship, engaging in rigorous critique, material investigation, and sustained dialogue around process and painting.

The Fall 2026 POD will also feature special guest conversations with acclaimed painter Dona Nelson and Kristen Smoragiewicz, Senior Director at Anton Kern Gallery, offering participants additional perspectives on contemporary painting and professional practice.

If you’re looking to push beyond familiar approaches, embrace experimentation, and deepen your studio practice within a committed community of artists, this POD is for you.
