West Village! This 40x40 inch acrylic painting was commissioned in honor of a big move from OKC to NYC + a new chapter beginning for @caroline.watkins 🚕🍎🏙️🍏🎨 @ricki_lee_scheef and I decided to pull some all nighters while I was in the thick of working on this. We do that on occasion and it always ends up being so productive but also just insane and fun. We barely slept for a week and definitely got delirious at times ( amplified by visits from @lolocunningham18 ). I loved this composition and the colors- especially the trees, car, and shadows on the street. It has officially made it to its new home in the West Village ❤️‍🔥 by @hannahcunninghamart

Big Sur. This painting is from 2021! The Austin-based couple who commissioned this piece love Big Sur and knew they wanted something that reminded them of it. The timing was perfect because I had just gone on a camping trip there a few years prior with some wonderfullll girls. The weekend was SO beyond inspiring and gorgeous. Not to be dramatic but it touched my soul. I pieced together this composition from a few different pics snapped on our fun, winding car rides along the coast spent listening to music and feeling like we were in a movie

Emerald Lake. This is my largest painting yet at 72 x 60 in! And also the first painting I happen to have some professional pics with thanks to @kaceygilpin ! The couple who commissioned this piece love Colorado, specifically Crested Butte. Emerald Lake is an alpine lake surrounded by wildflowers in the Crested Butte Valley 🏞️

Another transformative week at @andersonranchartscenter ! Such a special experience learning from and spending time with my very favorite painter @hilary_pecis and the pochoir queen herself, Liz Ferrill. Tangerine 🍊 Although I have a little experience with still life paintings from when I was younger, this is my first (and only so far) with a heavy emphasis on the interior of the room itself! I think my favorite part is the painting within the painting 🖼️

Spend a week in the studio with me as I make my new painting- Big Sur 3 🥲

A friend commissioned this piece and gave me full creative freedom beyond the fact that she wanted something in the Big Sur series. These paintings of the California coast are built from seemingly random colors and shapes that gradually fall into place, forming landscapes that feel emotionally familiar. There is something I love so much about that.

This piece was done 10 years ago in my beloved highschool art room and made specifically for my mom. It’s been on display in her house ever since!
@emerydavis_photography did a photoshoot over there for @birdhousestudio__ and got this great picture 💞

Looking back on this one I realize that my ‘style’ was developing even a decade ago. I still love doing paintings like this 🏡

OKC! This commission was sooo fun and definitely tested my fine line skills. I learned a lot about opacity and tape with this one and developed some techniques that I use today! This was also peak of my true crime era lolll I listened to probably 20 @myfavoritemurder episodes while working on this painting.

Big Sur 2! When I made “Big Sur” a few years ago I knew I wasn’t finished with painting that magical place, and even now after my second piece in the series, I’m still not! There is just something about seeing the mountains come alive through seemingly random colors and shapes that is sooo satisfying. As a lot of you saw, I could notttttt figure out the water for a sec. Although I didn’t use option A this time, I see Big Sur 3 with some funky waves in my future! It was an amazing night showing this one in the @birdhousegallery_ show opening last Friday- and some very special friends came by 🥲 Also, this was the first painting I’ve completed in the studio space. Working in this environment is truly a dream come true 🎨

The two larger pieces I completed during my workshop at @andersonranchartscenter ! We learned sooo many new techniques in class, a lot of which are used between these two panels. Collage methods, gold leafing, a really cool image transfer process, and more

Bikinis. This may be one of the only paintings that I’ve made outside! I was living in LA at this time, but would often escape for weekends (sometimes weeks) at a time to stay with @bayblant in San Diego. I made this for her on a sunny day in her lovelyyyyyy backyard 👙
