My last COR 100 group!

I have had the privilege of being a freshman mentor at Lyon for three semesters now, and it’s one of my favorite positions on campus. Intersecting research and school and social mentorship into a singular role has challenged me, but in the most positive ways possible!

So proud of my students who showed all kinds of talent at the Fall Career Expo on Tuesday. They continue to impress me with their professionalism and one-of-a-kind personalities!

And it’s midterms now?

My last semester at Lyon has flown by at an almost uncomfortable pace. Leaving Lyon after graduation will be one of many difficult choices I’ll have to make, but I’m not ungrateful that I get to make that choice.

A small update: I’ve officially applied to PT school! Now we wait and see what schools get back to me. Cross your fingers for me! 🤞🏼

What does life after Lyon look like? 👀

Today, Lyon Football players took some time to think beyond the next game, the next semester, and even graduation.. mapping out what they want for their careers, finances, relationships, growth, and everyday lives. 🏈➡️🎓

The future doesn’t plan itself, yall. & it’s a lot easier to get where you’re going if you know where you’re headed 🤷‍♀️ taken in Lyon College by @hannahkeepsmoving

The bus ride was long, but it was SO worth it! The Scots brought home a win over Illinois College last weekend!

There’s something special about the social bonds built within a team. Watching these guys celebrate a win together is a great reminder that this is more than just a sport, it’s a place for genuine connection, community, and belonging. Love this team!!

With my father being in the fire service, September 11th has always been a time of deep reflection and service for my family and I. I’m glad that this year I was able to share this with the Lyon College football team.

The Field of Flags is a tradition that represents the 2,977 individual lives lost during the terrorist attacks on September 11th, 2001. It is meant to be an eye opening reminder of the sheer magnitude of the tragedy, but also as a beacon of hope and unity.

These players ran over to the front of the chapel the second practice ended to help set these out for our campus ceremony the following morning. Their presence helped amplify the purpose of this monument: unity.

On a rare shared day off, we chose to hike one of the steepest elevation climbs in Arkansas: Pinnacle Mountain!

One of my favorite things about my degree is that I have witnessed both in the classroom and on the field what health and wellness can truly add to a person’s life. And while I struggled at first, it’s so cool to get to see it applied in my life!

Find the people who keep up with your energy and enthusiasm. You weren’t meant to enjoy this great life with bums!

While being a college athlete is a great privilege, it also comes with immense pressure.

The pressure to perform, balance school, and constantly be at the top of your game can prove to be overwhelming. And while this may seem obvious, there’s a person within the jersey.

September is Suicide Prevention Month. To recognize this, the players on my football team took the time to thoughtfully answer an important question and I wanted to highlight some of their answers.

Check on your teammates. Check on your friends. Check on yourself.

Your life is worth more than your performance!
