🎬 Meet the Filmmaker: Hannah Koonce (@hannahkoonce11)

From stop-motion films starring American Girl dolls to directing For Me, By Me, Hannah Koonce (Spelman College ’28) has been telling stories her whole life. A Documentary Filmmaking major with a Photography minor, Hannah creates bold, visually intentional work that reimagines Black characters in spaces they were never meant to occupy.

Certified in Adobe Premiere Pro and skilled in drone videography, she’s also the co-founder of BloopEdits, uplifting AUC creatives through professional storytelling. On campus, she serves as Production House Manager for Spelman Film Fusion and supports fellow filmmakers as an Audio/Visual Equipment Assistant in Spelman’s Art & Visual Culture Department.

Her work centers Black joy, representation, and community — with one goal in mind: making people feel truly seen and connected.
