Dandy 🤍 8-17-2026
A week ago, my grandfather went to be with Jesus. I never thought I would be the type to post about the death of a loved one, but I can’t help but share the hope that we are grieving with.

Today, we celebrated my grandfather’s life. Buz Rolfe was truly a man of honor.

He was a West Point graduate and student-athlete, served as a 1st Lieutenant with the U.S. Army’s elite 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam, and later served with the 2nd Battalion, 320th Artillery and the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Airborne Division in Korea. He graduated from Harvard Business School, went on to become a bank president, and was an avid golfer. But to me, he was Dandy.

He truly was more than accomplished on this side of Heaven. I could go on and on about the man he was, the life he lived, the things he accomplished, the wisdom he carried, and the people he loved.

But all of it is fleeting.

He is with Christ now.

And that is where my hope is found. Jesus took the punishment that we deserved. He showed us mercy when we deserved death. And in His grace, He has given us the gift of life and righteousness that we could never deserve or earn.

This is the hope I grieve with.

While I grieve deeply, I grieve with peace. Because my grandfather knew Jesus, death was not the end for him. His accomplishments, his titles, and all the things he achieved in this life were wonderful, but none of them could give him what Jesus has given him now: eternal life with Christ.

I will get to see him again!
Until then, I will cherish the life he lived, the legacy he left, and the hope we have in Jesus. by @hannahrolfee

What a blessing it was to bring students that I love, to a place that I love, to work with people that I love. The Lord is so sovereign over the people that he places in our lives. This is just one example. This past week our students got to partner alongside Alfa y Omega with my good friends Shelby and Tyler. What an honor it was to join them in the work that they are doing to make Jesus known in Spain! Te amo!! by @hannahrolfee
