🥉 THIRD 🥉

Donovan did his second skate competition Saturday and I could not be prouder of our son!

We are so blessed in this town to have so many families who get their kids out to skate. There is SO much talent and it’s the most fun to watch!

Friday night Donovan told me, “Mom, I feel confident. I feel like I’m going to win tomorrow.” Meanwhile, my own fears crept in for him. Of course I’d never say any of them. 🫣😂

His first run, he fell and his board went rolling through the park. He didn’t hesitate. He got back up, finished his run and didn’t get in his own head.

He told me and his Uncle @sancho_taco (who has been taking the time to skate with him! 👏🏼) that he was going to “send it” on his second run and try something he’d never done before.

@cfchapman was working, but I called him after Donovan’s runs and told him how stoked I was. In my mind, Donovan had already won.

To fall, get back up, watch all these kids with so much skill, overcome his own brain and decide to lay it all out there on his next run… these are the moments mothers cherish. Building a mentally strong human. LFG! 🤘🏼

I’m also fortunate to have a broker who made sure I could be there to watch my son. I’m so grateful for @ryan___schramm and his wife!

Being able to be there for my son—that was my win. ☺️ Not all that long ago, this wasn’t my reality, and I don’t take it for granted.

Later Donovan and I were talking and I said, “Man, I feel like God had you on that one!”

He looked at me and said, “We probably should have prayed before I skated.” 🥹😍

EIGHT!

Donovan is 8!

We got to spend the last day of him being 7 together fishing at low tide, playing bocce ball and eating chilis at A’s burgers.

He requested a steak dinner with Poppa, Desi and his uncles ❤️

And he finished it off with a skate party at blue gates 💙

I’m so proud of the human this boy is. He is kind, insightful, funny, talented and so aware and grateful. I feel lucky to be his mom. Thank you lord for this gift. by @hannahviola

I turned 36!

This birthday was a little stressful! I may have said it was my worst birthday yet 😂 But my husband saved the day. He surprised me with 11 of my best friends and made us a beautiful sit down dinner 😭 @cfchapman you’re too good to me ❤️ Thank you for showing up and knocking it out of the park.
