This Louisiana girl loves an alligator moment!

I knew I wanted blue fabric when I headed to @etsy to shop for something fun. I somehow found this amazing alligator 🐊 print from #sassyandchicfabrics and instantly fell in love.

The pattern is sorta made up, but I used MCalls R11034 for the front bodice and tiers. I shirred the back bodice piece using elastic thread on my bobbin.

I never envisioned myself as a make my own clothes person, but I’ve really come to enjoy making fun dresses for myself.

Growing up, my grandma used to make a lot of dresses for me. Sewing reminds me of her. Spending hours with her in her sewing room. Sitting on the steps next to her while she worked away, I’d make small pillows and Barbie clothes from scrap fabric. Now making full dresses for myself. 💛

end of the Cowboy Carter era

Forever proud of myself for making my outfit for this tour. This sequined alligator was hand sewn and took over 19 hours to craft. It was inspired by my home state of Louisiana and of course the song “Alligator Tears”. This leopard fabric was the perfect for the background. All self drafted and created from and for myself.

This album helped bring me back to pieces of myself lost during pregnancy and postpartum. It also helped me evolve into the woman I am today. Grateful to Beyonce for this brilliant piece of art and this amazing tour.

Boo-tober🎃
