Introducing Georgia Arnold!

Georgia is an artist, gallery coordinator and arts educator based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Working intuitively, she blurs figure, field, fantasy and reality to create a succession of ‘worlds within the world’.

These realms of autobiographic and imagined imagery are realised through painting, drawing, ceramics, metalwork, and installation.

Arnold completed a BFA at the University of Auckland’s Elam School of Fine Arts in 2019. Since graduating, she has become increasingly interested in the necessity of art making, how it feeds from and feeds back into her life.

Introducing Hannah Sutcliffe (@trail.blazerr) a wild and intuitive mixed media artist on a mission to paint her inner feelings and visions. Bouncing to and from illustrative and the abstract, she lives to experiment. From bright and swirly patterns, to sometimes jarring and punk angst, she stays true to herself in the moment within each piece. Often depicting natural forms and spiritual themes within her work, her goal is to simply live a life of raw expression and hopefully help viewers reflect on their own emotions and journey.

She graduated from Elam with a BFA and is based in Tamaki Makaurau

Introducing Hugo Primbs! @hugo.primbs

Hugo (b. 1999, Munich) is a New Zealand artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. His practice explores how the medium of painting can function as a stage for encountered objects of the mundane. His work plays with ideas of liminality, uncanniness, and the absurdity of the ‘double’. He graduated with a Bachelor of Visual Arts in 2019 and completed his MVA at the Auckland University of Technology in June 2021. by @hansa.studios

@oliiiiiviiiiier
chronically compartmentalising, Olivier Stein’s practice currently jumps between tattoo, print, drawing, and sculpture.

Introducing our resident disc jockey, Carlotta. A selectress born and bred in Tāmaki Makaurau CBD.

Recognised for her nostalgic dance-provoking sets across the city, her ambition is to select foot-stomping-booty-poppin’ sounds from a multitude of categories across all the finest eras.

Through her sonic journey a deep affinity with vinyl records came into play. Finding comfort within the grooves it has become her preferred medium. Exploring the culture that comes with wax she noticed the need to create more opportunity within this niche community. This lead to the establishment of the Karanghape Record Fair. Inviting a diverse range of traders and encouraging the next generation of vinyl enthusiasts.

Keep your ears peeled and you can catch her behind the turntables as she endeavours to sonically induce listeners into movement and when possible establish whanaungatanga (relationships) on and off the dance floor.

Introducing Hugo Van Dorsser (@hugovandorsser )!

Self-taught in painting with a background in graphic design, Hugo's practice is in its infancy. Compositions commonly host richly pigmented, thematic cacophonies that perplex perception and recognition. Rooted in connotations of popular imagery and morphed figurations, his work is at the intersection of satirical and calculated. Coercing audiences into an analytical diagnosis of his formed imagery, whether intentional or not.

Born in Ōtautahi Christchurch, Hugo now lives and works in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. by @hansa.studios

Introducing Gitanjali Bhatt - गीतांजलि भट्ट [ @gitanjali__bhatt ]

Gitanjali (b.1999 UK) is of Gujarati decent, working in video & sculpture. She creates nonsensical, found-object filming apparatuses, challenging the European gaze and exploring ideas of a migrant perspective of our surroundings. The intersection of video and sculpture merges invented mechanisms and visual images through an absurdist and thrown-together language.
Gitanjali completed her MFA in January 2022 at Whitecliffe College.
