A few more moments from my trip last season to @thelegendarybankedslalom with @hanzkyle and @jkmindnich.

It had been a while since Hans and I shared a couple pow days and I couldn’t have imagined a better way to ease into the event.

I wrote an article in the new @thesnowboardersjournal reflecting on the trip and all the other things going on in my life. “All That Matters” Check it out if you have a copy :)

“All that matters” : A project put together last winter by my brother @nils_mindnich . My Father Karl @jkmindnich flew out solo, hit the RV rental, an cruised his way up. Nils hopped over the pond from France. Through trials and tribulations everything ended up coming together, including the storm of the winter, fallowed by some amazing @legendarylbs racing. Nils and Dad both were set up in their RVs for the whole week, enduring, every facet winter camping had to throw at them. Once the skies cleared, we were left with nothing but blue skies and cold smoke snow, which is unusual for the PNW. It made for a perfect week to say the least. All in all the trip could not have worked out better. Good times, good snow and great racing were had. These are the adventures that we will cherish remember for a lifetime. I can’t thank everyone who was involved enough for help making it happen!!

All That Matters.

Last February, Nils Mindnich returned to the Mt. Baker Legendary Banked Slalom with his brother Hans and their dad Karl to camp in the parking lot for a week. Now living in France and working as a product designer for Salomon Snowboards in conjunction with his pro snowboard career, Nils scores the best week of the season with his family and reflects on the importance of community and place while competing in the iconic race.

What a legendary week it was indeed. My dad @kaptin_karl and brother Nils came into town on the first day of February which just happened to be my birthday! This kicked off the start of possibly the best week In baker I have had since I had the pleasure of moving here in 2020. Snow leading up had not been great, but just like that the switch was turned and not only did we get a bunch of snow, but a lot of cold smoke followed by cold sunny days. In short an ideal combo for us shredders. As my brother Dad and I got her fill of pow we settled into race mode, giving our boards all the wax they can handle. I fell on qualifying day and barely snuck in on the bubble for finals (meanwhile sonic the hedgehog was putting down 6th fastest time of the day for fun) then was able to put down a good first run with a 1:10:01 as well as @nils_mindnich with a 1:10:16 putting us in a respectable 4th an 5th!! All I can say to that is what a race! An what a week!! Truly one for the books indeed.

A cool little sequence of events from last spring. Nothing but a blast shooting with 📸 @redeyewillie . Pretty rad to see this ran in the @themtbakerskiarea online experience mag. 💻 📖 If yer like me an have a never ending fall/winter list, throw it at the top and give that Nogin of yours a nice little reset. 😃 .

Utah spring boarding. It’s been fun having @hanzkyle out in UT. In classic spring style we managed to fit in a pow day, banked slalom and slushy park laps. I think it’s my favorite time of year. by @hanzkyle
