Sunday mood scape . Taking big risks playing around with greenware 😬 , but I can’t resist an ikebana set up. Mountain laurel is just starting to bloom . This is the prettiest time of year in North Eastern Pennsylvania 🥰 by @hao.ceramics

Having fun with forms. Planning on using these with flower frogs for some ikebana floral displays. The organic flow of the pedestal bowls will so complementary and I’m so excited for that.

I’ve been wanting to make large planters for years now but was intimidated at working with such a large quantity of clay . I’m unable to throw over 10 pounds on the wheel so it was a question of how do I make them? The answer was making my own plaster molds! I took a 5 gallon bucket from Lowe’s and filled it with plaster then placed another bucket inside of that with weight in it. Unfortunately now the other bucket is stuck ! But the mold at least did slide out of the 5 gallon Lowe’s bucket . I’ll keep experimenting 😅

Herbarium collection .

I’ve been so excited to debut these. I had this idea in my head and it was so hard to articulate what I wanted to execute because of how many layers and steps involved in the process.

But here they are 🥹. A budding collection of ceramic floral presses to hang in homes. I’ll have these available at my first spring market on April 18th. And afterwards I’d like to do a drop of available pieces. I’m working on a spring mug collection with botanical themes to pair with these. I’d like to offer a Mother’s Day gift box that includes a wall hanging, mug, and floral pressed trinket dish. Please message me if you’re interested ♥️

Working on some reds. This is a fun clay body to throw and I love the pieces in their greenware form like this. I’m in a transition period with creating; like the sprouting and budding before a bloom. I find there can be more gratification in the anticipation of what’s to come than the experience of it afterwards.

I finally got around to glazing some of these vases I made in the red stoneware. There’s something about the lighter glazes against the darker stonewares that are just so beautiful and satisfying to me. I think it’s the depth it offers on the pieces that’s hard to get with the lighter clay bodies.

Not yet fired. I’m excited to see how the colors will change after a bisque and glaze fire.

❄️ Winter Vibes ❄️

This is my first year planting amaryllis bulbs and I’m so excited to see them bloom. I love the idea of some life while everything around me is in stasis. I tend to be a victim of seasonal depression around this time of year and all of my motivation and inspiration just leaves me. I’m hoping to use the downtime to focus on ceramic installations in my own home, like bird sculptures for my bedroom, and porcelain flowers for the studio. Really wherever my imagination takes me 😅

Some butterscotch glazed pitchers on Thanksgiving.

On a day where I can reflect on what I’m thankful for it’s always my family (pets included 🐾) and friends so here’s a little round up from the past few weeks of photos collected 🧡🤎💛 Happy Thanksgiving
