New song just dropped 🍉 This is a small offering and meditation on the ongoing genocide in Palestine. Ceasefire now 🇵🇸 free Palestine forever! All the proceeds from downloads will be donated to organizations supporting people on the ground in Gaza &/or organizing to end the occupation.

Huge thank you to @ezratea for collaborating with me on this track and creating such beautiful harmonies, to @hapabass for turning bass strings to heart strings, to @tennesseejohnmusic for recording/mixing/mastering this track, and to @sundrawnpines for letting me use and alter their original artwork for this release.

Please help by downloading the track (link in bio), sharing it, sending it to your friends, and more importantly taking action to stop the US war machine and end the genocide in Gaza.

so honored for the opportunity to share a composition inspired by @tananarivedue ‘s “The Reformatory” at @baybookfest this weekend! huge shoutout to @bushwickbookcluboakland for putting together an amazing roster of musicians (and @miapixley for capturing this clip!) — check them out if you haven’t already — and to @tananarivedue , @stephengrahamjones , and Ayize Jana-Everett for a fun and informative panel! and of course go and read “The Reformatory” — it’s chilling, deep, heart-opening, and the jump scares are 👌🏽 can’t recommend it enough for all you fellow horror fans 🔥🔥🔥

much love in this (sadly) precedented time. may we never go back. by @hapabass

84 years ago today, FDR signed Executive Order 9066, authorizing the incarceration of every Japanese American on the West Coast. They were told to get rid of all their property and take only what they could carry.

My grandparents and their families spent the next four years imprisoned in the most remote places the US government could find: Tule Lake, CA and Jerome, AR. Once the war was over, each person got $25 and a train ticket to Los Angeles. My grandfather’s family lived in the barracks circled in the third slide.

It feels important to mention that there were ZERO reports of Japanese American spies; in fact, the Japanese government distrusted Japanese Americans due to their loyalty and patriotism to the US. This was an explicitly racist policy engineered by the likes of Karl Bendetsen (read: Stephen Miller)

We must do everything we can to resist this authoritarian nightmare—we all know where this leads. by @hapabass
