Every time you see a bee coming back to the hive covered in pollen… you’re watching the foundation of the entire colony at work. 🐝🌼

Pollen isn’t just “dust” — it’s the bees’ main source of protein. It feeds the developing larvae, fuels the growth of new bees, and keeps the entire hive strong, productive, and thriving. Without pollen, there’s no brood… and without brood, there’s no future hive.

Strong hives = healthy bees = the rich, raw, local honey you love. 🍯

Queen check 👑🐝

Jim checked in on one of our queens today and she’s doing exactly what she’s supposed to—laying strong and keeping the hive thriving. The colony is healthy, active, and this spring weather has everything working overtime to produce that rich, golden honey you love.

This is what real, raw, local honey starts with 👇
A strong queen. A healthy hive. And a whole lot of hard-working bees.

Inside every hive, it all starts with the queen. 🐝

The queen bee’s main job is laying eggs—sometimes up to 2,000 a day. She carefully places a single egg into each tiny hexagon cell in the honeycomb.

Once the eggs are laid, the rest of the hive takes over. Worker bees feed and care for the developing larvae, keep the hive clean, regulate the temperature, and continue building the comb while others head out to gather nectar and pollen.

Every bee has a role, and together they keep the hive thriving and producing the incredible raw honey we all enjoy.

People ask Jim all the time why he got into the honey business.

His answer is simple — he loves the bees, what they provide, and the incredible way they work together to produce something as pure as honey.

But the truth is, it’s even bigger than that.
The name Happy Bees came from his granddaughter, and from that moment on this wasn’t just a honey business anymore… it became a family legacy.

Every jar represents hard work, dedication to the bees, and a tradition Jim hopes will be passed down for generations. 🍯🐝

Right here you’re watching one of our honeybees using its proboscis (a tongue-like mouthpart) to drink and move honey within the hive. 🐝🍯

Worker bees constantly do this as they process nectar, ripen honey, and organize it inside the honeycomb.

Every drop of honey is the result of thousands of tiny moments like this happening inside the hive every single day.

That’s the incredible work behind the pure, raw honey we harvest.
