☀️I’m officially joining the Sunburst granny cardigan revolution! ☀️

Ok so it’s not a revolution but everyone I see them I think yep I want one!

So with the beautiful yarn I bought this year from @yarndale off the lovely @theyarnartist

I am using up loads of @woolboxyarns yarn I have from a failed project which has been catching my eye and so happens to be the perfect shades for this cardigan!

Excited to see this grow! Hope everyone has survived Storm Amy, with some crochet and a cuppa :)

I’m a crocheter… and I love AI. 👀🧶

I know! It feels controversial to say anything AI-related, but I think there’s a really important distinction between using AI to replace creativity and using AI to support it.

I don’t want AI to crochet for me. I don’t want it pretending I’ve made things I haven’t, or being used in a way that devalues my work. I don’t want it creating my photography or graphics, because I love doing those things myself. And I definitely won’t be trusting it to write my crochet patterns, because we all know AI can get things wrong. 🙄

What I do want it to do is help with everything surrounding the creative bit.

I’ve used AI to help me build my own WordPress crochet plugins and little tools that make running my website easier. When I come up with a plugin idea, I love how AI can help me expand on it and create something genuinely useful that saves me time.

I’ve also created crochet apps while teaching myself how to use AI, and they’ve become useful tools for me. They help me play with colour combinations, experiment with patterns and visualise ideas before I commit. They visualise my ideas faster; they don’t create them for me.

So, AI is actually giving me more time to crochet: fewer mental loops about what to create, less admin, less noise and, one day, less website faffing when I finally get it live again! 🙌

Nope, AI isn’t perfect. But it is a tool that’s as exciting as it is a little unnerving.

The core ideas are still mine and everything I share as my crochet will still have been handmade by me.

But if technology can help me turn more of those “wouldn’t it be cool if…” ideas into things I can actually create?

Abso-flippin-lutely I’m going to explore it. 😂🧶

Anyone remember our first caravan? Four in one bed with a rather large dog! It was cosy to say the least. 🥹

It was ready to collect the same week after our youngest was born, but took me 2 weeks after the c-section to be able to make the trip and sign the docs. It sounded like a good idea at the time and it was! But navigating how to use and tow a caravan while in the thick of postpartum was possibly a slightly unhinged decision 😂

But those little caravan trips became such a big part of our family life.

Eventually we upgraded to one of the biggest caravans we could find, then we ended up taking a break from caravanning for a while. But next year… we’re back. 🙌

We’re setting up on a seasonal pitch, which means more little escapes, more family time, more sitting around in the fresh air, more car time…

…and most importantly, MUCH more crochet time. 🥳

✨ It’s been a little quiet around here…

Life has been life-ing lately, and crochet has had to take a back seat for a while. Between work, family, and end of year party planning, I haven’t picked up my hook or even wanted to, but the urge finally came and I am back in my chill place.

I’d forgotten how calming it is to get into that crochet rhythm, and I’m determined to get this beauty finished instead of letting it become another permanent work in progress!

I’d love to know what everyone’s currently making or what is on trend, or have I missed anything recently?!

For my longtime follower’s ________ It’s been 4 years since this pattern was released! It’s a long #throwback😍 today and it is by far my most popular pattern. There are a gajillion rainbow blankets out there, so thank you thank you for picking mine 🥰

🔥 Day 9 of #yarnfriendsrock – Fire and Ice ❄️

👋 So, I don’t haven’t anything for today! And I’m not gonna knock up a project or make some odd connection with an older project because I don’t want to 🙂

Instead here is one of my oldest WIPs which I love too much to bin, but not enough to get the fire in my belly to restart it. So it sits in the corner giving me icy glares. 😉
