American Robin, NYC.

"The American robin (Turdus migratorius) is a migratory bird of the true thrush genus and Turdidae, the wider thrush family. It is named after the European robin [...] because of its reddish-orange breast, though the two species are not closely related, with the European robin belonging to the Old World flycatcher family. The American robin is widely distributed throughout North America, wintering from southern Canada to central Mexico and along the Pacific coast." (Wikipedia) by @happyhawk007

Dalia, Stuyvesant Square Park, NYC

My friend showed me this flower, which is called a Dalia, and I thought it was spectacular. It reminded me of being a kid looking through my toy kaleidoscope! So beautiful. by @happyhawk007

Double-crested Cormorant, Central Park, NYC (2023)

I think these birds are fascinating. They look prehistoric, and they are excellent underwater swimmers. Here is a short clip of a cormorant looking for a fish to eat while swimming underwater:

A Common Grackle cooling off on a hot July day.

"'Grackle' is derived from graculus, the Latin word for jackdaw, a Eurasian crow. With sleek dark plumage and a reputation for antics, grackles certainly have a corvid energy—but they are actually members of the blackbird family, more closely related to orioles, Bobolinks, and meadowlarks.

" -- The Audubon website, "10 Fun Facts About the Common Grackle," by Zoe Grueskin. by @happyhawk007
