🕹️ Spoon Lake Restaurant – a local favorite, and the owner lady really takes good care of her guests.

🍝 Home-style Eel Noodles
They offer several types of eel – the “soft pocket” version even won an award. Honestly, I’m not a huge eel person, but the stir-fry was pretty solid as a topping. What I truly loved, though, was the noodle soup itself – so fresh and umami-rich.

🥠 Crab Roe Soup Dumpling
Huge in size, but sadly just so-so. The broth inside was too light and lacked that rich punch.

🍲 Huai’an “First Course”
My favorite part was the fish balls – silky and tender. Not a fan of the pork skin, and the thickening was a bit heavy for my taste.

All in all, a meal full of local character, even if not every dish hit the mark. Would still recommend for the soup alone!

🕹️ Haikou’s Longshepo Market – a total vibe.
1st floor = fresh seafood frenzy.
2nd floor = they cook it all for you right upstairs.

We snuck in just before the typhoon shut everything down 😂
Two of us, and honestly… my friend doesn’t even like seafood that much 🙃

🥥 Coconut water = sweet, refreshing, hits different.
🐟 Coral trout cooked simple and homely – comforting.
🦐 Giant mantis shrimp, THICC and juicy – went with Typhoon Shelter style, my fave 🔥
🦀 Crab was super meaty but a bit too salty – definitely one for steamed rice.
🐚 Clams were good – also rice material.
My friend had the shellfish and liked it, so all good!

👻 Pro tip: haggle a little – it’s expected and kinda fun.

Perfect messy, delicious market dinner. 10/10 would brave the storm again.

Found this spot in Lianyungang – Baxian Fishing Port, recommended by a local coffee owner. No tourist traps, just honest seafood and chill vibes.

🥟 Colorful Family Dumplings (~¥40‑50/12). Each color = different filling. The green one (herb/veggie) was my fav – so fresh!

🦐 Mantis Shrimp (¥198, market price). Typhoon Shelter style – crispy garlic goodness. 2/3 had rich roe, and the staff peeled every single one for me. Love that service.

🦞 Garlic Spiny Lobster – a lucky freebie from a review promo. Super bouncy, garlic vermicelli underneath – perfect combo.

Everything is weighed in front of you, prices clear. Great for solo diners too – they didn’t push me to over-order. If you want fresh seafood without the rip‑off, put this on your list.
