POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I recently went to our local FLGS and picked up a random game. Strange World from @grrregames looked cute on the shelf, was a small box and it had a solo mode. I think I have leaned more into games that play solo play as well as multiplayer. This turned out to be a pretty great little game. I love games where the end is tallying up all the different scoring conditions. So far I haven’t done great with solo score but I enjoy the cozy card placement. I also liked the drafting in the multiplayer games.

Have you tried this one out yet?

Random game night choices. We had a little time to play some games here is what we chose.

Gnoming Around - Milo has taken to a game with a golf style and we were looking for other games in the collection we could teach him. We refreshed ourselves on the rules so we could show him. You really cannot go wrong with a Grandpa Becks game.

Triqueta - I had picked this one up and played it with Milo. We weren’t too blown away with it, but realized Nick had never played it. I think Nick felt the same way that it was cute but just okay.

If you have been wondering why we haven’t been in the game room lately, this should sum it up. Nick has a master plan to scan and catalog all of our MTG cards. The first step was sorting them all by release. 😬 We’re a couple thousand cards deep. 🤣 This doesn’t even include our constructed and commander decks. Doh!

Milo asks me quite often if anyone has made comments on his videos. I love that he’s wanting to be more involved with content.

@getintogames had a cool trick to show multiple reels at once. I believe you can click on them, if I did it right. So here are some of his videos for a second peek.

When we started our account Milo was 3. There weren’t very many games we could play with him but he always wanted to learn. He has hit an age where he is wanting to try more and more from the game shelves and it is becoming a daily adventure to try something new, if not after homeschool, after dinner.

Tonight we played Packed Up from @veryspecialgames . This one was super easy for him to pick up and also gives us a gateway to so many other golf type cards games. I think this one is just super cute in the little backpack and I think he thought so too.

I got lucky with this one. I’ve been a little risky taking my puzzle board from the kitchen to the deck to put it together. I had got done with the puzzle and it was missing a piece. If it fell through the deck I’d have a terrible time finding it. 😬 The little booger was hanging on for life at the edge of the rug.

This is my third Halloween puzzle for the month and the weather has just put me in the puzzly spirit. This is Disney Villians from @ceacopuzzles . The entire time I put together the puzzle I kept singing this song so it seemed to be perfect for the post.

Nicks brother stopped by last night and we played games out on the deck. It was nice to get some games out we haven’t played in a while. Since he has played games with us for so long it’s easy for him to pick up new games. It was nice to have him over. ❤️

We played

Otter @charming.games
Jungo @happycampergames
Snarkas @playhootenanny
Romi Rami @randolph.games
And another prototype game I made. by @happymeeples

After homeschool Milo went and picked out a few games to play. We’ve really been enjoying hanging on the new deck in the beautiful weather!

The games he chose were:

1-2-3 Monkey Flip Halloween @kawaiilabgames He’s been enjoying this game and was slow initially but then taught it to Nick once he started to get good at it.

Similo Spookies @horribleguild since we got this game Milo has enjoyed playing this as a filler. The theme is on point for the spooky season, which he loves!

Sushi Go @gamewrightofficial we’ve had this game for ages and I can’t believe we’ve never played this one before but he loved the play a card and pass mechanic.

One Trip Nick @brassmonkeygoods I am not kidding when I say this game is played at least a couple times a week in our house and it just sits on the counter.

What games do your young kids enjoy?

We got One Trip Nick for Nick’s birthday and Milo has been obsessively asking everyone to play it with him. Today during breakfast he thought he had me with a floating baby but I ended up placing one more piece. This game is so addictive!

Nighttime gaming out on the new deck. Tonight we all played Skyscratchers from @veryspecialgames . In this game players are moving their cats up windows using their cards to make it to the penthouse. Be the first on to get all three of your cats to the top and win.

The fun part about this game is it is all magnetic to the game box and it was fun to push the opponents cats around and even off the building. 🤣

Thank you to the cool people at @veryspecialgames for sending this over for us to try out!

It’s the birthday of our favorite dude!

How’d we do on the gifts?

Expeditions - @stonemaiergames : Nick has loved Scythe and we literally have everything for it. At Gen Con we bought Duel for Meloch. So he has consistently asked for Expeditions.

One Trip Nick - @brassmonkeygoods : I recently seen a reel on @boardgamereviewuk and knew that Milo would love playing this with Nick. It also has his name in it… sooooo fitting, right?

Murdoku - @hachetteus : if you didn’t know this Nick loves Sudoku. He’s currently playing a lot of Meowdoku on his phone and has also loved Killer Sudoku. I thought this would be a fun new game.

Milo also picked him out a few other things including the phone stand holding up the book.
