Here's my interview with Tommy Bowe and Muireann O'Connell on the Ireland AM sofa, celebrating my instant number one bestseller THE NOWHERE GIRLS.
And it's number one again this week, so thank you everyone who has bought a copy, and shared the book love with friends! I so appreciate it.
You'll see how relaxed I am ... that's because chatting with Tommy and Muireann feels like catching up with old friends. Always a pleasure.

You can watch the full interview here: https://youtu.be/RdeJPjH3OVo

Thankyou @kildarereadersfestival for inviting me to speak on the Behind The Bestsellers panel, alongside the legends that are @sheilaoflanagan and @faithhoganauthor, interviewed beautifully by @tiredmammybookclub. We had such a warm welcome from the hardworking team behind the festival. I love any opportunity to meet readers, so thankyou to all who gave up their Saturday evening to come say hello. ❤️

It's been six years since I did an official author photoshoot, so it was time for another session of me staring thoughtfully into the distance whilst trying not to giggle!
Of course I went back to Wexford photographer Paula Malone Carty. She's such a pro, and I knew I was in safe hands with her.
And a heartfelt thank you to Johnstown Castle, Wexford, for their warm welcome. The beautiful house and landscape would give a girl notions...

It’s always fun to be in studio with @olivercallanshow. But this time it wasn’t to talk books. I was pushed outside my comfort zone as their Friday Visiting Critic, sharing what happened when they booked me a singing lesson!

Last night I ticked an item off my bucket list - seeing Oprah Winfrey in person!
#oprah #oprahdublin
@oprah @pendulum.summit

And it was even more special that I got to share it with my sister Fiona!

I’ve been a lifelong fan ever since I stumbled across an episode of The Oprah Winfrey Show in the late 80s. It was the one when Oprah was surprised by a reunion with a beloved teacher. I was so charmed by Oprah’s emotional reaction to that teacher that I set my VHS recorder to tape the next episode.

By the end of that week, I was hooked and never missed a show! And let me tell you, this was before there were series links and streaming services, so it took commitment to catch them all while I was working!

I applied for tickets several times when I travelled to the US for work or on holiday, but luck was never on my side. The closest I got to Oprah was chatting to her waxwork at New York’s Madame Tussaud’s (2006)

Over the years, I’ve asked myself a question Oprah posed on one of her shows: Am I living my best life? Depending on the answer, I would find a way to change course, realign, and do better for myself and, in turn, for my family. This question pushed me to pursue a career as an author. And I’ve got one of my favourite Oprah quotes in my office to remind me to keep going, especially on the tough days: The biggest adventure you can take is to live the life of your dreams. And no surprise (because Oprah is always right), my adventures over the past fifteen years as a published author have been the best time of my life.

During her interview, Oprah shared her obsession with being cast in The Colour Purple, and how she finally found the courage to let that dream go, only to get a call from Stephen Speilberg moments later. I was transfixed because I have my own obsession! My Colour Purple, if you like! My dream is that Oprah will read one of my books. And one day I might follow in the footsteps of my fellow Irish authors and be chosen as an Oprah Book Club Pick. Wouldn’t that be something?

I’ve been manifesting this hard. A mini Lego Oprah, holding a copy of my book The Nowhere Girls (thank you, Catherine!), sits on my bookshelf!
