We grew a Mangelwurzel for the first time. Nobody warned us we might need to register it as a dependant, ha! 🤭 Genuinely one of the most ridiculous and brilliant things we’ve ever pulled out of the ground. We had absolutely no idea what was going on underneath the soil…glorious. — Now the important question… what on earth do we do with him?! What if you did? 🥹 A few months ago, we were standing at the Gardeners’ World Autumn Fair @audley_end_house site wondering whether two “still learning” veggie growers had any business building a Beautiful Border here. Now here we are, calling ourselves (as my amazing friend Stacey echoed) “award winning garden designers” (🤭), with a Silver Merit award in hand (as if!!!)🥈⭐️ It’s just another favourite reminder that ‘HappyPotting’ keeps giving us: You don’t have to already be brilliant at something to be allowed to try it. Be curious. Be a beginner. Make something you love. It’s never too late 📖 🌿 Sharing a little enjoyment in the feelings that creativity through personal style can bring today~ If your confidence needs a gentle reminder, like mine certainly has over the years, you don’t deserve to hide thinking it’s “too late”or that you’re “too much”. Intrusive thoughts will *always* win if you let them, so don’t give them a moment to try 🌾 Do the daunting yet brilliant thing (Repeat! Repeat! Repeat!) until it’s daunting no more and you discover the love that’s nestled back there. You deserve it 🥰 == This beautiful linen denim @sondeflor dress is perfect for helping to celebrate all of this. It’s gorgeously timeless, natural and made to be loved for a long time, just like you! So how do you think I did 🥹💐? My first time crafting together a classic, spiral hand-tied bouquet. — A lovely little goal I’ve had sitting in my list for some time, proudly ticked off during a day spent at @thecambridgeflowerschool 🌸 — I had so much fun and threw myself right into it~ The spiral technique is all about placing each stem at an angle, building a bouquet that holds its shape beautifully and lets every flower have its glory. Beauuuutiful~ 🌸 My left art the next day? 😅 Amazing the muscles you work! — There’s something so satisfying about learning how to do something you’ve admired for years. It can be daunting but if you have the creative curiosity or the passion (or both!), take up space! A little content note: This post shares personal experience of eating disorder treatment and recovery. Please take care of yourself if this is a sensitive subject for you 💜 — A little piece of my story that I’m never quite sure how to share actually, but it’s a celebration, for sure! ❤️ In 2022, my world became teeny tiny. I spent five months away from the life I knew, working incredibly hard to find my way back to it. I don’t think I could ever have imagined then just how much happiness, colour and adventure would eventually find its way back into my life but here’s the proof and I dang well love it! — I’m still working on things. I still have tricky days, and I may need some support. But goodness, I’m so grateful that I get to experience all these lovely little things now. — I’m sharing this because I know how hard it can be to imagine a different future when you’re struggling. And because I hope someone who needs to hear it might see this and feel a little less alone. — Life doesn’t have to be perfect to be wonderful. And you deserve to be here to experience it 🧡 — I’m also incredibly proud that through our little gardening adventures this year, Lloyd and I were able to raise £881.25 for @beatedsupport , a charity always doing such important work supporting those affected by eating disorders. — Thank you for being part of that, and for helping us turn something we love into something that might help somebody else. — You’re flipping brilliant 🌱 #mindfulgardening #mentalhealthawareness #gardeningistherapy taken in London, England by @happypotting

Sharing with you today that “empty” doesn’t mean “The end” 🥹✨(like, this is also me reassuring myself, haha!). Our allotment beds are getting emptier now, and I’m finding this bit of the growing year a teeny bit bittersweet. Looking back at everything that our beginning brought us out here…all the firsts, the successes, the things we’d do differently and the things we absolutely cannot WAIT to grow again…that’s not “Empty” 🥲 We’re literally FULL of everything this year taught us and what we’re excited to do all over again. A little autumn magic 🍂 We spent the loveliest afternoon wandering amongst pumpkins and gourds at our local PYO farm. I couldn’t have picked a more perfect setting to feel comfiest in my gorgeous Gaia blue gingham linen smock dress from @sondeflor I absolutely adore these colours together. So…what did we actually DO with our mangelwurzel? We’ve been asked this a lot, so we had to run an experiment~ Anyway…we made chips, ok? 😅 Chopped, seasoned, into the airfryer…it’s not fancy but for a first time recipe with this thing? They were GOOD. A little crispy around the edges, soft in the middle and a lovely, earthy sweetness to them~ From one absolutely ridiculous looking root to a serving of *homegrown* chips! - I think that officially counts as plot to plate for this wild thing!~ Would you want to share these with us? — Mangelwurzel bought and grown from @shegrowsveg seeds SPG Seasoning bought from @smokey.rebel — #growyourown #plottoplate #homegrownfood taken in London, England by @happypotting
