At a time when many governments are building barriers, we’re heading to the United States to present a project built on openness.

✨ We’re proud to announce that the New Government Quarter in Oslo has been selected as a finalist at the World Architecture Festival 2026 in the Completed Buildings – Civic and Community category.✨

Built on the site of the 22 July attacks, the project explores how architecture can make democracy visible, accessible and part of everyday life. Rather than turning inward, the ambition was to create an open civic landscape where government, public life, art and memory come together.

We’re proud to announce that the Shanghai Yacht Club has been shortlisted in the Future Projects – Sports category at the World Architecture Festival 2026.

Set on the edge of Dianshan Lake, west of Shanghai, the project is conceived as a new waterside destination combining elite sports facilities with hospitality, culture, and public life. The masterplan supports professional competition and everyday recreation while creating a vibrant, year-round waterfront.

Designed around a sensitive wetland environment, the scheme concentrates development to protect habitats, preserve the shoreline, and maintain the landscape as the site’s defining feature. Inspired by sails, wind, and water, its lightweight roofs, shaded terraces, and lake-facing spaces are supported by passive environmental strategies.
More than a sporting venue, the Shanghai Yacht Club offers a new model for sports-led development—bringing together high-performance infrastructure, ecological stewardship, and an inclusive public waterfront.

We are grateful for the collaboration with our fantastic client, Shanghai Meifan Yacht Club, and for the opportunity to continue developing the project with our local partners, Yitong Design and The Jiaotong University Design Institute.
We look forward to presenting the project at WAF in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 18–20 November 2026. See you there!

Come and visit Haptic’s miniature treehouse from 4 July 2026, designed as part of the Bonsai Treehouses pop-up exhibition from the Museum of Architecture (MoA).

Alongside leading architects, landscape designers, and engineers, we were invited to design a miniature treehouse in response to a living bonsai tree, responding to a single theme: Together.

How can architecture coexist with, or be inspired by, the living form of a tree?

Our design reflects Haptic’s ethos of working with rather than against the landscapes in which our projects sit, and always designing to bring nature in.

The exhibition is accompanied by a creative workshop programme for all ages, including hands-on treehouse making, family workshops, and a Bonsai Masterclass with Peter Warren, one of the UK’s foremost bonsai experts. Last night we gathered by Regent’s Canal for Unfamiliar Ground 2: Belonging on the Banks - an evening of conversation about community, ecology, culture and the future of London’s waterways.

A huge thank you to our wonderful speakers, Adam Usher (The Canal Museum), Lori de Mori and @skippingdownthecanal (Towpath), Christopher Arthey (Swim City Basin), Laura Carlin (Such Stories), and chaired by the wonderful Amy Frearson.

From stories of the canal’s past, to ideas for swimmable cities and grassroots action, the evening was a reminder that belonging is something we create through care, curiosity and collective action.

Boarding! Noida International Airport has opened to domestic and cargo operations, with the first flight from IndiGo taking off on 15th June 2026!

Noida International Airport meets four Indian Green Building Council sustainability targets including IGBC New Building Platinum, setting a new benchmark for airport design.

Serving 12 million passengers in its first phase, @nordicooa , @grimshawarch and @hapticarchitects have worked with Yamuna International Airport Private Limited on a connection for India that celebrates the spirit of travel, the hospitality of a destination and the resiliency of sustainable operations.

The design is deeply rooted in culture and tradition to create a unique, intuitive passenger experience and the opening of the airport sees our design inspiration, detail and delivery come to life. We look forward to continued operation and opening of the international flights later this year. by @hapticarchitects

Join us during the London Festival of Architecture (@londonfestivalofarchitecture) for Unfamiliar Ground: Belonging on the Banks.

We’ll be exploring Regent’s Canal as a site of cultural production, where ecology, culture, and everyday life intersect. The evening reframes the canal as a shared territory of belonging: from a habitat for non-human life, to a workspace for creative institutions. We’ll be bringing together the ceramicist and illustrator Laura Carlin, founders of Towpath Cafe: Lori de Mori and Laura Jackson, Christopher Arthey from Swim City, and Adam Usher from The Canal Museum, to reflect on how the canal shapes their practice, and how, in turn, they shape the canal’s identity. Moderated by Amy Frearson.

SITE VISIT: Dianshan Lake, Shanghai
Haptic Architects has been commissioned to design a new bath house and athlete village complex at Dianshan Lake, Shanghai, as a companion to the Shanghai Yacht Club delivered by the practice last year.

Set within a mature mangrove of sequoia trees, the project was approached as a landscape-led masterplan shaped by a nature-first strategy that protects and enhances this exceptional forest biotope.

The development revolves around the bath house which is imagined as a unique forest-bathing experience: a carefully choreographed route through the trees that immerses visitors in the atmosphere, light, and texture of the woodland. Along this journey, a series of water therapy spaces, teahouses, and a yoga studio are tucked within the landscape, creating places for retreat, restoration, and reflection.

The athlete village residences are organised around existing trees, allowing the forest to define the character and layout of the community. The original idea being a series of translucent screens, there is a dappled light quality to the dwellings which individually open out towards the surrounding forestry whilst maintaining privacy between neighboring homes, establishing a calm and intimate relationship between architecture and landscape. by @hapticarchitects

This weekend @noidainternationalairport opened, located in Jewar, south-east of Delhi.

Designed by an international joint venture team - @nordicooa , @grimshawarch and @hapticarchitects - for Yamuna International Airport Private Limited (YIAPL) the new airport will be a benchmark in sustainable terminal design and create a significant multi-modal hub for India. Responding to the climate and context, the passenger journey is also designed to connect travellers to the place creating nature enhanced spaces landside and airside where people gather and intuitively come together as they travel.

In its first phase, Noida International Airport, is expected to serve over 12 million passengers each year, connecting travellers to local, regional, and international destinations. The airport’s domestic and cargo terminals will be operational from Spring 2026, with the international terminal projected to complete in Autumn 2026. With completion of the second phase the airport will ultimately support over 30 million passengers.

Clemenskvartalet is a housing project in central Olso by Mad Architects (@madarkitekter) with Haptic, that is fast becoming a touchpoint in the Nordic conversation around urban design along Oslo’s post-industrial waterfront.

On the threshold between Oslo’s historic core and its revitalised port district, Bjørvika, the scheme reconciles high-density living with public space.

Ranging from five to eight storeys with characterful facades and warm colours, Clemenskvartalet is not simply ‘housing’ but a whole neighbourhood contained within a single city block. by @hapticarchitects
