Join us this Monday 12 February at @capers.thornbury for our screening of the Palestinian film واجب (Wajib) by Annemarie Jacir 🇵🇸

This will be an outdoor screening, with very limited capacity seating - DM directly to reserve a spot and BYO something soft to sit on.

**Priority will be given to our Palestinian brothers and sisters if we reach capacity so please read the room.

Front bar will be open all night for all who cannot secure a spot.

Come through from 7:30pm, for a 8:30 start - we hope to see you there <3

Sincere gratitude and love to everyone who came to our screening of يد إلهية (Divine Intervention) before we wrapped for the year 🫶🏼

We raised $1,595 + countless direct online donations we haven’t been able to keep track of. All funds going to @ajforg who are providing much needed support to newly arrived families from Gaza.

Thank you kteer @kines_bar_offical for having us and donating your profits on the day ❤️

In solidarity with Palestinians and their right to resist and exist, our programming will continue to be dedicated to Palestinian stories and resistance.

Our next screening will be this Monday, 12 February. More details tomorrow.

🇵🇸This Saturday December 16, we will be screening the Palestinian film يد إلهية (Divine Intervention).

Written and directed by Elia Suleiman, Palestine (2002)

We’ll be raising funds for @ajforg at our screening, but more crucially our aim is to create the space to help us all articulate the injustice of this brutal occupation as we call for an end to the siege on Gaza and the illegal occupation of Palestine.

Donation entry and open to all - please DM us directly to reserve a spot. Priority will be given to our Palestinian brothers and sisters if we reach capacity so please read the room.

This Monday November 6, we will be screening the Palestinian Documentary “The Shadow of the West” by Edward Said (1983)

What we are witnessing right now in Gaza is a genocide. As international news outlets, world leaders, and major social media platforms are engaging in censorship and perpetuating the dehumanization of Palestinians, it is crucial now more than ever to amplify Palestinian voices.

Our programming for the foreseeable future will be solely dedicated to Palestinian stories and resistance. We’ll be raising funds at all our community screenings, but more crucially our aim is to create the space to help us all articulate the injustice of this brutal occupation as we call for an end to the siege on Gaza and the illegal occupation of Palestine.

We acknowledge that this action is just a small contribution, and we wish to honor those who have been tirelessly working to make a difference. These screenings are intended to support those who are fighting for a just future for Palestinians in their homeland.

Do what you can, even if it's small. Not just for Palestinians but as a reminder to yourself to never accept this injustice.

This Sunday September 24 we will
be screening the Jordanian film كابتن أبو رائد (Captain Abu Raed) by Amin Matalqa.

Abu Raed becomes an accidental hero to the children in his neighborhood, entertaining them with visits to cities that exist only in his imagination. While the film explores themes around dreaming, storytelling and intergenerational connection, it’s important to note that it also touches on sensitive subjects related to domestic violence.

‎ستموت في العشرين (You Will Die at Twenty) is a film that questions blind faith and dares us to wonder if death could inspire courage rather than fear.

Hello! We’re excited to be putting on a second screening of الساتان الأحمر (Satin Rouge) for those who missed out!

Screening will be next week on Tuesday May 23 at @longplay_bar

‎الساتان الأحمر (Satin Rouge) is a Tunisian film about Lilia, a widowed mother whose process of letting go is intertwined in the evocative world of belly dancing and the solace it brings her. So visually stunning, we couldn’t help but show it a second time 🥲
