Dragoncon Day 4: Firelord Zuko

I know I did Zuko very recently at Otakon but for a convention named “Dragoncon” it felt fitting I run him back. Unfortunately I didn’t get to edit him the way I wanted to but at the end of the day you still knew I was Zuko at a glance. Though some of the other Zuko’s made me feel self conscious admittedly. Regardless shoutout to my faithful Makeup artist @boo_itskay for her stellar work on the scar. It took me days to wash off

Dragoncon Day 3: Danny Rand The Immortal Iron Fist.

I’ve done Iron Fist before but they’ve all been Lin Lie variations thus it was only a matter of time before I did my favorite IF Danny. Now I know Danny’s got some problematic undertones to his origin but I’m always gonna go to bat and say he’s a far more progressive character than he’s given credit for. That crappy tv show aside, if you actually dig into his history you’d find Danny is probably the widest white guy in comics history. But y’all crucified him cause a white boy did a lil kung fu and loved on Black Women. In any case, don’t ask me where Luke was last weekend

Alex wasn’t in the initial lineup for Dragoncon but since I debuted the guy in Atlanta back at Momocon it only makes sense that Man With No Allies runs it back for my second visit to ATL. Plus there was a fighting game meetup so that helped me settle it too. All in all y’all know how I feel about the big lug, top 3 cosplays and all that. Next time you catch me with the face tats pray I don’t feel like powabombing you

Dragoncon Day 1: Satoru Gojo(Shinjuku Showdown).

Gojo’s an interesting character in the sense that it essentially took me the whole book to like him. Make no mistake I thought he was fine from the jump but it wasn’t till JJK’s final arc that I truly came to appreciate the totality of his character and the themes relation to strength, isolation, guilt and even love comprised him. Similarly it also wasn’t till the final arc that I ever felt the need to cosplay him since he’s wearing the costume of my other favorite JJK character. All in all it was fun to put my own spin on the character(the hair crowns are my favorite bit)) and it felt good taking him to an actual con instead of another weeb party. Now I just need a Sukuna to duo with 👀

Not much for collabs but when my sis @_jade_kazama bugged me about a Yu Yu Hakusho one I had to slide. And who better to represent with than the Black Angel Shinobu Sensui? When it comes to evil counterpart of the protagonist, you do it better than him, hell most of them don’t even do it half as good. In any case be sure to show love to the other collaborators too. The Centerpiece cosplay of Otakon: Firelord Zuko. Admittedly the idea of cosplaying Sifu Hotman had crossed my mind as soon as I started this cosplay thing of mine but I really didn’t wanna do it due to it feeling like… “typecasting” for lack of a better word. But then that new movie dropped and I knew immediately I had to hop on the wave. Not a bad debut all things considered, already thinking of ways to improve the costume to be even cooler. Bringing it back for Dragoncon so I’m sure it’ll look even better then.

And if you saw me Saturday night: no you didn’t.
