Wow what a year it has been!! Since coming to UC Berkeley, I have found a true family of hardworking, motivating, serially locked-in bears that inspire me daily. I’ve been built up by the friends I have made this year and I am truly grateful to everyone I have met. Whether its running together in the morning to the gym, or locking-in and staying focused on getting the highest grade, my bar is raised thanks to the incredible energy and academic vitality here. My friends motivate me to really learn concepts and understand them, they push me to go to hackathons, events, galas, and network! I just built my own website and I’m starting my YouTube channel soon thanks to them!

I’ve also lost 45 lbs since community college and have felt incredibly blessed to be at one of the finest universities in the world with absolutely, the finest people.

That said, this year has been brutal. I don’t like to post about anything bad in my life on social media because I like to look back on the good memories I have in life when I’m down. My mom’s health was a huge cause for concern during the semester and it was really hard to stay focused. She’s doing a lot better now and I’m thankful, thankful to have had people I could confide in for support and guidance. I also spent time in the ER first for a pretty bad fall that gave me cuts and bruises, then for pneumonia. It was definitely a scary early December but I’m very happy to still have my mom and to be alive! Berkeley is very tough academically so I’m proud of myself for making it through Fall semester. I’m proud of my growth, my perseverance, and for the strength and tenacity of my friends who have inspired me to keep going for the win.

I’m making this to show students from @scchonorsclub what it’s like to study at @ucberkeleyofficial. I’m fortunate to live in @ucbanchorhouse and wanted to make a quick video to capture what its like here.

Wow what an absolutely incredible semester. I haven’t posted here in a good minute but hi! From getting a data scientist intern position at Intel to being accepted into NASA’s NCAS Scholar’s program, to winning an essay contest and my first hackathon, this year was pretty incredible. I’m very grateful to my family and friends for their support and advice through my darkest times. Their kind words and gestures gave me the resilience I needed to work through my pitfalls. I’m happy to have found such meaningful connections and I’m happy to say that the future is looking much brighter. #iamintel #nasa #arduino #diy #lightbulb taken in NASA's Johnson Space Center by @hardcore.function
