A bouquet you can wear or hold? 🙋‍♀️

What I love about this particular armature is that it gives you options. You still have structure and movement and can create shapes and placement you may not be able to with other methods. The possibilities are endless, and that's exciting!

I had the pleasure of creating this piece back in March at a @passionflowersue masterclass at @mollyoliverflowers . I'm looking forward to continue playing with this one and hopefully having the opportunity to create it for someone's wedding ;).

Wholehearted Floristry.

This is a sentiment I have echoed before, and will continue to champion. People are at the root of what Hare and Bear Co. is all about.

The vision has always been the same: to bring people together over simple things and spark joy and connection. I believe all people deserve dignity, kindness, and compassion. Not just in words, but in the actions of this business that wouldn't exist without people.

I know there's a lot of suggestions for how to show up right now, and I just want to say that regardless of how you show up, what's important is that you do-however that looks for you. Your actions may not be loud, but what we can't be is silent.

I read this from a post by @jackelopefloralco yesterday, and it remains with me: "The long haul asks something quieter but harder than outrage. It asks for sustained attention. For listening to people who have been naming harm long before it was widely believed. For letting other people's fear and grief matter even when it does not mirror our own. Care is not a trend. It is a practice for life.

"The long haul is choosing to care before it is personal and to keep caring after it is no longer visible. Because dignity should not depend on whose pain finally gets our attention." by @hareandbearco

When I think ahead to 2026, one word comes to mind: intentional. In the world of floral design, it’s so easy to get caught up in trends and forgo true artistry in the pursuit of success.

But when we do that, intentionality gets lost in all the noise. We follow the crowd instead of trusting ourselves and the creative process.

The December 'Floral Note' is up, and in it I'm talking about what I feel will be the "floral landscape" of 2026. If you're a couple looking for designs that honor your wild, free souls and make you feel something when you look at them, I still have some availability to flower your 2026 wedding.

I just want to be in your orbit 🪐

Bold purples and pinks, pale lilac asters floating in space, with love-in-a-puff vine orbiting around the stems.

Have you scoped out our seasonal creations in The Studio @bowoodfarms ??

In addition to our gorgeous gourds throughout our front & back gardens, we also took inspiration from the gardens for upcoming workshops!

Pumpkins are obviously a favorite for workshops with @neon.robin & @emilyelizachoi but we’re also…
• crocheting dahlias as they’re in bloom with @punkinpiecrafts
• designing woodland wreaths with @hareandbearco
• making moonscapes with @holly_makes_everything
• pouring coasters with @byolgam
• painting fall sunsets with @dhbdesigns
And @clay_madebycait always makes fresh clay designs for her jewelry making workshops!

Come enjoy the season with us! taken in Bowood Farms by @hareandbearco

A moment for the lush, scrumptious bouquet for Ella and a nod to her maids.

This bouquet was a celebration of all the best local blooms - bearded iris, ranunculus, garden roses, and sweet pea vine with a hint of nigella.

For the maids bouquets, I went with a similar palette, knowing each lady was wearing a pale yellow dress. White campanula brought together butterfly ranunculus in pinks and yellows.

An anniversary arrangement where I get to do my thing?

That is the kind of special request I thrive on. The trust that I will create something that's intentional and one-of-a-kind means the world to me. Thank you to each of you who places your trust in me. I know that's earned, and I don't take it lightly.

P.s. how cool is it that I get to create with such cool, locally-grown seasonal flowers?! taken in O'Fallon, Missouri by @hareandbearco

Here's how we made this chuppah design happen in 30 minutes.

1. Communication. I had already talked with the couple and the venue coordinator in advance and knew that there would be a tight timeline for getting the ceremony florals in place.

2. Planning and preparation. I knew I needed to design a piece that would hold up and look beautiful for the ceremony. I also needed to plan the design and mechanics in a way that allowed for a quick and efficient setup.

3. A fantastic team. None of this happens with just me. I have a great group of people that I can turn to when I know I'm going to need help on design days and Stephanie @ferrariflowers and Tee with Dirty Blossom knocked it out of the park.

Hi. I'm Amy. The person behind Hare and Bear Co.

In a world where people tell you not to take things personally, I do 👋.

A few things to know about me:

- I am a big family person. Besides my own family of 4 (+ multiple pets), I am a sister, daughter, and lucky aunt to several nieces and nephews.
- Sourcing from local flower farmers is my jam. A full car and cold room are what dreams are made of.
- I love being prepared, and I geek out over mechanics. I'm always experimenting and running trials with different methods.
- I believe in being a part of your community and supporting the people and programs that make the community thrive.
- Learning is a love language. It's why I attend workshops and practice and create just for fun. I know I can always improve.

I think it's easy to forget people are behind small businesses and let the relationship be purely transactional. That gives me the ick.

I practice what I call "wholehearted floristry". It's about honoring time and place, and allowing seasonality to influence my designs. There's intention and thoughtfulness behind each floral design. taken in O'Fallon, Missouri by @hareandbearco

Okay, I've heard of flower foam. It's hard not to when you're part of the floral industry.

I'm not here to judge others for their choices; rather, I am here to let you know that it's possible to create floral designs on a small and large scale without floral foam. It involves careful planning, experimenting, and a knowledge of what will work best in any particular situation.

I am still learning and I always love to discover new sustainable mechanics. Whether you order flowers from me, take a workshop with me, or choose me as your wedding florist, you won't see any foam. I happen to think that's pretty cool 😎.

Save for when you need inspiration for sustainable design!
