Today is #WorldAlzheimersDay, and words fail to capture just how drastically my life has transformed over the past year. I’ve tried to record dozens of videos to talk about this, but finding the words is almost impossible. Living with a parent who has Alzheimer’s feels like an unrelenting wave of emotion EVERY. SINGLE. DAY. Watching a parent die in slow motion is brutal, and watching my family dynamics change because of it is heartbreaking. To be completely honest, it’s actual emotional torture.

My mom, Nancy, was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s about two years ago. Last year around Labor Day weekend, her condition took a sharp turn for the worse. We went from trying to manage with at-home caregivers to realizing she needed full-time memory care. Navigating that transition revealed just how little guidance or support exists. Our healthcare system simply isn’t built for this. There is a severe shortage of quality caregivers, and the financial burden of memory care, which isn’t covered by government programs, is staggering.

This disease is growing at an alarming rate, affecting people at younger ages, and rapidly climbing the list of leading causes of death. Yet the general public rarely understands how complex it is, or that there are over 100 different types of dementia. We desperately need more research, better public resources to help families navigate care, and a medical system that is better trained to spot the signs early, my mom’s own doctor of many years completely missed what was happening. It was only when she repeatedly forgot her purse at a wedding two years ago that we knew something was wrong and pushed for an evaluation.

Through all of this, I am endlessly grateful for the compassionate caregivers who have treated my mom with dignity and kept her comfortable. And I am deeply thankful for music. It is incredible to witness how music stays with her, even when speech fails, the melodies remain.

We need to do better for families facing this path. Better care, better research, and more awareness are no longer optional…they are URGENT. If you are able, please consider donating to @alzassociation to support research and assist families who need it. ❤️ by @harleek

Getting Danny Elfman to read a Pop-Tart box was definitely not on my bingo card!

One thing about social media management that’s so vital is being a fan first. When you’re a fan, you actually know what the audience wants, and you can give it back to them. Awhile back, when @dannyelfman released his Christmas Story, I noticed a comment blowing up with likes saying they’d listen to him read a box of Pop-Tarts.

I saw it and immediately pitched the idea - lo and behold, Danny was down! That single video blew up immediately with thousands of comments and views across his platforms. This success then stemmed into a new content series around Danny reading random things (and there were a lot of requests for him on @calm 😉😉). John Stamos even called it ‘genius’ and some amazing fan art came out of it. All of this just proves that listening to the fans is the ultimate growth strategy.

Forever grateful to be working with a genius who’s down to make fun content! ✨❤️

What a WILD ride the last 3 weekends have been. I started my business a little under 3 years ago in response to the post COVID climate of continued layoffs and constant job insecurity. Fast forward to last year, easily the hardest year of my life. While my personal world felt heavier than ever, I poured everything I had into my creative work and worked my ass off.

Then January happened. One client on SNL + part of @asaprocky’s heavily anticipated album drop (@dannyelfman). Followed by my first time at Sundance with a client (@moontowerproductionsla / CHASING SUMMER). Then watching a client win a freaking Grammy on an album I handled the social rollout for (@robertrandolph). I am still in shock, and yes, there were very happy tears on Sunday.

From moving to LA 12 years ago knowing only 1 person and sleeping on a blow up mattress in that 1 friends’ living room, to this moment, it all feels surreal. I am beyond grateful for every person, opportunity, and experience that helped get me here.

A major special shout out to @laurelstearns, who I am so honored to call both a friend and a mentor for bringing me along on her EPIC ride, and @_chrisblack, who brought me into the film side of things by supporting my love for movies just as much as music. And to everyone along the way who believed in me and never let me forget what I am capable of, thank you.

And truly, where would I be without my incredible therapist, who helped keep my head on straight even through some really unfortunate circumstances. I’m sharing that part for anyone going through something heavy right now. It is always okay to ask for help.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! 🙏❤️🥹🥹🥹

Grateful (✨lately✨). It is funny how when life gets really heavy, gratitude becomes the only way to move through it. This past year reminded me that things are not always good, but they do shape you, even when you do not feel ready.

It is wild to think about how different my life was last Thanksgiving. Around this time last year everything started to unravel. I was stressed, not sleeping, and just trying to hold myself together. Then this year came with its own storm. Losing my grandpa, everything with my mom, and a breakup all hit at once. The four months before we moved my mom into a home were some of the hardest months of my life, and I kept working and trying to live life through all of it, even when I felt completely done.

What changed everything was finally opening up about what was going on. Once I did, the way people showed up for me blew me away. My friends and family became the strongest pillars when I could not hold myself up. The check ins, the hype, the love, all of it reminded me I was not alone. I am so thankful for the people in my life who support me. I am grateful for messages from old classmates, from people I met once in a bathroom line, from anyone who saw a bit of their own story in mine. I feel so loved. Thank you for being a friend 🥰😘❤️ taken in Los Angeles, California by @harleek

Last week @vanityfair released an interview with @asaprocky and others where he talked about working with @dannyelfman. Danny, who is my client, asked me to amplify the moment and I said SAY LESS. It was incredible to be part of something like this and even get press from his post. It means a lot to be able to help an icon connect with his audience in such a fun way. A very cool moment for my little biz. ❤️
