D’Pistol aka Gunner
By Gun Runner
16.1hh
2021 TB Gelding
Schooling and competing Novice at next upcoming event
Uphill, brave, and scope for more!

Affectionately known as Gunner currently in the barn (JC: D’Pistol) has retired from 8 starts (last in Feb 2025) He is an affectionate horse to handle, enjoys being groomed and bathed, trailers, cross ties, stands for vet, farrier, etc. Gunner progresses easily and will be a fun horse to develop up the levels with the right rider. He is a nicely forward ride and very responsive to rider seat aids- goes in all phases with a snaffle and soft mouth. He would excel with a rider who is looking for a talented, athletic type partner, because of this he is not suitable for a nervous beginner. He will jump anything if the rider is confident and supportive!

Productive first show aboard Katie’s 4 year old OTTB at Flying Cross in BN! We are just getting to know each other so a bit of a catch ride show but he’s already trying with all he’s got and I’m looking forward to building on this for his move up at Jump Start next! taken in Flying Cross Farm by @harleyheightseventing

Up to the Mark, owned and bred by Donna Harrington of Avenir Farm, finished on his dressage score with two double clear jump rounds at his first AEC in Training Horse! 🌟

Thankful for this one of a kind horse doesn’t cover him and all he does and is. He is new to the level since only May of this year, qualified, and placed 8th while showing great confidence tackling all phases of this championship event. I joke that all stallions are ruined for me in comparison to him, but it’s probably true. The deeply layered partnership and emotional connection of a stallion that we have built is something I hold sacred. Not to mention how he walks around the venue on a regular leather lead amongst everything and all horses SO relaxed that you would never know he is a stallion.

This is only the beginning for him, and I’m excited to see where his talent, confidence, and continued development take us from here 💫 to all of the many who have reached out with kind words, support, and continually cheer us on, thank you ❤️ taken in Kentucky Horse Park by @harleyheightseventing

A week of rotten hoof luck brought our GA trip to an early end. I had hoped we patched everything together beforehand but it became clear quickly that Ernie was not his normal self for dressage or SJ, despite his heart still in it and wanting to do the job, god love him 🧡

Unfortunate timing this round but happy to know the cause and give him the time to be back to his normal self very soon is truly best case scenario. The competition for us was not meant to be this round but still had a great weekend away with the horse and husband at one of the most beautiful venues around ☀️
