Hey everyone! I’ve noticed a bunch of new faces around here lately, so I figured it was the perfect time to reintroduce myself! I’m Coach Harley, the proud owner and founder of Diamond Elite Academy, a boutique-style softball training facility based in Pequannock, NJ. I created Diamond Elite with the hope of creating more than just a training space—I wanted to build a positive, empowering environment where athletes could grow in confidence, sharpen their skills, and truly feel supported. I’ve been coaching for 15 years and played DIII softball at Ramapo College. Over the years, one of the things I’ve come to value the most is the connection I get to build with each athlete. Being part of their journey, both on and off the field, is something I will never take for granted.A little about me outside of coaching: ✨ Married to @swolestradomus who is a personal trainer and shares my passion of training athletes✨ I love to travel and explore the National Parks✨ The beach is my happy place ✨ Obsessed with spin class @cyclebarwyckoff Now that you know a bit about me, I’d love to learn about you! Drop a comment and tell me something fun or you biggest softball goal this season ✨#aboutme #pitchingcoach #pitchinglessons #softball #softballlife by @harleyrosepitching

Our Foster Fastpitch Certified Coach Program was built to be a **safe place**—a place where coaches can learn without judgment, ask questions, share ideas, and grow alongside other coaches who are passionate about becoming the very best they can be.We believe in **Community Over Competition.**This isn’t about creating coaches who all look the same. It’s about helping you become the best version of **you**.Inside our certification, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of pitching mechanics, athlete development, communication, business growth, and what it truly takes to help athletes reach their potential. You’ll be surrounded by a community of coaches who genuinely want to see one another succeed. When you invest in becoming a better coach, you begin offering something that parents and athletes can’t find everywhere else.✨ Greater confidence in your coaching.✨ A deeper understanding of *why* things work.✨ Better communication with athletes and parents.✨ A supportive coaching community that wants to see you win.✨ The opportunity to continually grow—both personally and professionally. That’s how you separate yourself from the rest. Not by trying to be louder than everyone else. Not by copying what every other coach is doing. But by continually learning, growing, and developing into the coach your athletes deserve.Because the athletes you coach tomorrow are depending on the coach you’re willing to become today. If you’re looking for a coaching community that will challenge you, encourage you, support you, and help bring out the very best in you—we’d love to have you.👇 **Comment “INFO” below, and we’ll send you all the details.**🚨 **Applications for our next Foster Fastpitch Certified Coach Program open August 1.** We only open enrollment a few times each year, and spots are intentionally limited so we can pour into every coach who joins us.We can’t wait to welcome our next group of coaches. by @harleyrosepitching

One of my favorite sessions from the Foster Fastpitch Retreat was learning from Auburn pitching coach Ryker Chason. His presentation was a great reminder that player development is about so much more than mechanics. It starts with relationships, understanding how each athlete learns, and building a strong foundation through movement, strength, and recovery. One message stuck with me the entire time:Coach the human first. The best coaches don’t choose between developing the person and developing the athlete, they understand that the first makes the second possible. These were a few of my biggest takeaways. I hope they make you think as much as they made me.Thank you Ryker for sharing your knowledge and passion for developing athletes the right way 🫶🏼✨Which takeaway resonated with you the most?#softball #coaching #pitcher #athlete #pitchingcoach by @harleyrosepitching

Made for More ✨This week at the @fosterfastpitch Retreat, I was reminded exactly why I love what I do.I’m so unbelievably grateful for Kerri and every coach in the Foster Fastpitch Certification. Kerri has been an incredible mentor who has challenged me to think bigger, dream bigger, and continue taking both my coaching and my business to new heights.Over the past few days, we learned from amazing coaches, shared ideas, solved problems together, and spent time surrounded by people who truly understand this journey. Coaching can sometimes feel isolating, not because you don’t love it, but because so much of what we do happens behind the scenes. Having a room full of people who simply get it was something I’ll never take for granted. What stood out most was how genuine this community is. There wasn’t a hint of competition. Just coaches lifting each other up, sharing openly, celebrating wins, and wanting to see everyone succeed. It’s the definition of community over competition, and that’s something I’ll carry with me long after this week.My cup is so full, my notebook is overflowing with ideas, and I genuinely feel like I made friends for life 🫶🏼Here’s to being made for more. More growth, more impact, more learning, and more athletes whose lives we get to change ✨Thank you, Kerri, and thank you to every coach who made this week so special. 🤍 by @harleyrosepitching

Kneeling progressions with Brynn ✨Doing drills from one knee, especially on a balance pad or bosu ball, is a great way to isolate the upper body while challenging your core strength.Without your legs helping generate power, you’re forced to stabilize through your core and control your movement from the ground up. It’s a great way to clean up your arm whip, improve arm path mechanics, and build better body awareness.Sometimes taking the lower half out of the equation is exactly what a pitcher needs to feel what their upper body is doing.Try these progressions in your next bullpen ✨Happy pitching ✌🏼#pitchingcoach #pitchingdrills #pitchingmechanics #softball #softballlife by @harleyrosepitching

Struggling to feel front side resistance? Here’s a simple drill to try!Front side resistance is one of the hardest concepts for young pitchers to feel and understand. This drill helps athletes experience what it should feel like to create a strong front side as the arm whips through.A common mistake I see is pitchers landing with a soft, bent front knee instead of creating a firm front side. That can affect the timing of the arm whip, which ultimately impacts both command and velocity. You don’t even need a softball for this one, it’s all about developing the feel. After getting the feel for it, you can absolutely add the ball. If you have a bosu ball, it adds an extra level of difficulty because it will challenge your balance. If not, a sturdy chair or plyometric box works great too. Elevating the landing leg encourages your leg muscles to engage and helps you better understand what true front side resistance should feel like.Sometimes the best drills aren’t the flashy ones, they’re the ones that teach your body what it’s supposed to do ✨Happy pitching ✌🏼#pitchingcoach #pitchingdrills #pitchingmechanics #softballseason #softballpitching by @harleyrosepitching

Plyo progressions with Riley ✨Plyos are one of my favorite ways to get pitchers loose before a lesson, bullpen, or game. There are so many different drills you can use, and every pitcher ends up having their favorites. One thing I always remind my athletes is that not every drill is going to feel good for every pitcher, and that’s okay. We communicate constantly about what feels natural, what doesn’t, and what gives them the best feedback so we can build a warm-up that works for them. Here are a few of Riley’s go-to plyo progressions. We’ll also change the weight of the balls depending on what we’re working on. Don’t skip your plyo work, it can make a huge difference ✨Happy pitching✌🏼#pitchingcoach #pitchinglessons #pitchingdrills #softballpitching #softballlife by @harleyrosepitching

Love a good bucket drill ✨Bucket drills are a great way to work on your power, specifically from your lower half. Add this to your next bullpen to activate those leg muscles or as a finisher to your workout!#pitchingcoach #pitchinglessons #pitchingdrills #softballlife #softballpitching by @harleyrosepitching

Being consistently good will always take you farther than being occasionally great.Anybody can have a big game. A great bullpen. A hot weekend. But what separates athletes isn’t what they do once in a while, it’s what they can repeat. Can your coaches count on you?Can your teammates count on you?Can YOU count on you? That’s what consistency builds.Consistency matters more than flashes because flashes come and go. Confidence can fluctuate. Results won’t always be perfect. But routines, habits, preparation, and resilience? Those are the things that keep you steady. The athletes who last in this game aren’t always the flashiest. They’re usually the ones who keep showing up, keep adjusting, and keep competing.Be the athlete people can rely on.That matters more than one great moment ✨#softball #athlete #pitching #motivation #consistency by @harleyrosepitching

Coaching is so much more than showing up for lessons and going home.It doesn’t really shut off.You think about your athletes after bad games. After hard lessons. After confidence dips. You replay conversations in your head, wonder if you said the right thing, wonder what they need next, wonder how they’re doing.Sometimes you carry their struggles with you more than they’ll ever realize. One of the hardest parts of coaching is knowing what an athlete needs and understanding you can’t force it. You can give them the tools, the plan, the feedback, the support, but they still have to choose it. They have to buy in. They have to do the work when you’re not there. And that part can be hard.Coaching has also taught me that there is no one right way. Every athlete learns differently, moves differently, responds differently. What clicks for one might not click for another. Sometimes rebuilding an athlete is harder than building one from scratch, and sometimes the progress feels painfully slow.Patience becomes part of the job.And then there are the days where you’re carrying your own stuff, life, stress, hard days, but you still show up for them. Because they deserve your best, even when you’re not feeling your best.Coaching is emotional. It’s challenging. It’s exhausting sometimes. But getting to be a small part of someone’s growth, confidence, and journey in this game will always be worth it 🫶🏼Thank you @turn2training_ you’re the inspo behind this post ✨#pitchingcoach #pitchinglessons #softballlife #Coaching #athlete by @harleyrosepitching
