I enjoyed this one! I loved the author's take on how society views overweight people and how it always seems to be a lose lose. If youre too big its bad, if youre too small its bad, if you lost the weight by 'cheating' with a weightloss drug its bad.

It has a Thinner by Stephen King feel which i loved. I watched that movie as a kid.

The only thing i didnt love was how Emmet hardly ever stood up for himself. I love to see a main character clap back.

Its been 1 month since I had to say goodbye to Bink. 1 month of life moving forward and I feel like im finally settling into this new version of myself.

I thought I was mostly prepared. She was old, so her reaching the end of life wasnt a surprise.

What I didnt expect was the flood of nostalgia from going through nearly 16 years of videos, pictures, memories. Memories I havent thought about in over a decade. People and places that were tucked away in my mind for a long time now brought to the front.

Its weird not having my little kitty companion in my lap or meowing in my face. The mornings are quiet...too quiet, and I swear I've seen her out of the corner of my eye in every room of this house.

She was a part of my everyday routine, my day to day life, and not just the most memorable days. Not just the big moments. She was there for the mundane too. The boring days. The sleepy Sundays. The days when I was too cold to get off the couch, or too tired to get out of bed.

She was woven into the fabric of my very soul and its been a real pickle learning who I am in her absence.

Im already 1 month ahead of her and I really dont know how to feel about it. It feels like im leaving her behind in that little patch of sunlit grass at the end of May. I think a little piece of me is still there with her too.

But im grateful for the time we got to spend together on this Earth. We had a unique bond Bink and I. She was bold and loud and stubborn and charismatic and I think ill strive to be those things too. Its the least I can do ❤️

Review :

Set in the same world as The Sun Down Motel, A Box Full of Darkness has similar thriller/supernatural vibes. I loved it! The twist was one i didnt really see coming, although I was listening to this at work and may have missed some of the hints idk.

I enjoyed the sibling dynamic and the supernatural elements. The ending was satisfying and answered most of the plot questions. Overrall I recommend this one if youre in a haunted house / sibling / ghost mood.

What were you doing in 2010? How long ago does it feel? Me, I was 19 years old searching for a cat on Craigslist.

I found a little tuxedo cat, around 8 weeks, and went to get her, with no idea that I would be committing to something for the next 16 years.

Bink and I moved 9 times, from apartments to duplexes to houses. We moved to different states. She watched me say goodbye to my ex and then say hello to my husband. She's been with me through it all. Good days. Bad days. Long days. Crazy days.

We grew up together. All through my twenties and halfway through my thirties. Me and my tuxedo cat. If there was one constant in life, it was Bink.

But life does this thing where if you blink and turn around, you suddenly realize how far you've come. Bink came a long way. She lived a long long life. She was loud, and crazy, and demanding, and she was the best cat I could've asked for.

She's gone now, leaving a tiny, black and white tuxedo hole in my heart. But it was her time. She wasn't herself anymore.

Bink I know you're meowing up a storm in kitty heaven. I love you❤️
