The clothes I’ve been making, with my hands, no sewing - are a way to cope with the horrors of the world , the innocent people being killed by corrupt governments and armies. The thing is, I don’t want to be coping, I want to be fighting alongside everyone. the addictions that keep us away from feeling I wish for them to disappear systemically. Materials not surprisingly enough keep us isolated from one another. Your labor = $ = Material goods = image. I don’t know. Material change material change material change…I don’t know what else to say. I want a different world. I want us to support each other. I want vulnerability, crying, tears with everyone next to me. I want to break the rotten. I want to rebuild enlightenment. The gaps of silence and repression between us have become too big, even within myself, it wasn’t always like this. Digital landscape is part of this. American culture. American reality. Diasporic spell-bound. It’s hard for me to make things and think about how to get financial support for my work when people are being killed. That’s where I’m at. I’m struggling financially but at least I’m using my voice? I don’t know. Abandonment of everything but the voice and the hands that weave for each other. Everyone is affected. Everyone should have support every step of the way.
