I love taking harps apart!!
First, the tension of the strings need to be lowered then taken off (so the soundboard doesn’t get too upset). This harp had a couple of strings stuck in the eyelets 🫢
Next are the pedal springs, pedal bars, and spring studs!
Then the pedal rods must be detached from the action (I have a cool special tool for this!) before removing the entire tubing rod assembly.
Last but not least the main action comes off!
This harp is getting some major cleaning and much needed tlc before (and after) getting put back together 💆🧖

I cannot express my gratitude enough to this incredible team of harp techs I had the honour to work with at One Harp World! Their integrity, knowledge and passion for the harp and our craft as harp technicians left me truly inspired. From presentation sessions, to endless questions, to meeting world class harpists, and caring for harps during the event, I am so grateful to have had this deep-dive opportunity to share, learn and inspire. I have certainly come away a better harp technician in more ways than one, and I hope to bring & incorporate this experience to the work I do in both Australia and abroad.

A pretty typical travel day for a regulation trip! This was the first day of a long and BLIZZARDY trip to Maine earlier this year ❄️

Yes it is normal for my days to start at 4:30am and end at 11pm!! Thankfully I LOVE my job and it’s worth it 🩷🪉🛠️
