Three years without you today.

Laying my father-in-law to rest recently brought every memory of you rushing back. Our relationship was never simple—it was intense, tumultuous, and heavy with intergenerational trauma. While good people stood by you, there were also "yes men" who vanished the moment you needed real support. It’s true what they say: parents identify fake friends, but children identify fake family.

I was never the one to tell you what you wanted to hear. When things were wrong, I gave you the raw truth because I cared enough to stand in the storm with you.

Through all the pain and instability of our family’s story, time has filtered out the noise, leaving only what’s real. I love you deeply, Dad. Rest easy knowing I will protect and take care of Mom until my last breath.

You didn't always know how to navigate what was passed down to you, but your heart was never in question. You will always be remembered as a father who loved his wife and kids with everything he had, using whatever tools he possessed.

There are some people who make you feel like family long before time has had the chance to catch up. Even in the brief moments we shared together, I always felt your warmth, your kindness, and your unconditional acceptance.

You built a life defined by quiet sacrifice and unwavering love. From humble beginnings, you gave everything to build a bridge to the future for your children—sending your son to study in Australia and your daughter to Canada. Your sacrifice gave them the world.

When it came time to say our final goodbyes, my brother-in-law carried your photo to the cremation. I was deeply moved and humbled when your family entrusted me to carry your portrait to your burial—a sacred privilege traditionally reserved for an eldest son. When Sophia asked if it was okay, the response was simple and clear: "Harrison is family."

To be welcomed into your family was a blessing. To carry you on your final journey was an honor I will carry with me for the rest of my life.

Rest in peace.

Growing up as the child of refugees, I learned early on that resting felt like a luxury we couldn't afford. 🌿

When your family starts over from nothing, survival means moving fast, working harder than everyone else, and constantly looking for the next safe step. Carrying that mindset into adulthood built my work ethic—but it also taught my nervous system that I always had to be on guard.

For a long time, not having every answer felt dangerous.

Here is your Mental Health Minute reminder: real healing starts when you look back at that younger version of yourself and say, "We made it. You are safe now."

What healing looks like when you're used to surviving:

• Letting go of the need to have every answer right now

• Giving yourself permission to rest without feeling guilty

• Realizing your worth isn't tied solely to your productivity

To anyone carrying intergenerational pressure today: you don't have to carry it all at once. Take a breath. Save this post for when you need a gentle reminder to slow down. 🤍

They don't build them like they used to. Spacious, Enduring, Timeless. Built by Tridel, this updated and modernized condo stands as a testament to craftsmanship that truly holds up over time.

My client needed the space, and this unit cost only around $485 per sq. ft. after I negotiated reductions from the listing price.
