Brother, mentor and legend - Harry Cookson needs little introduction and for him actions have always spoken louder than words.

Harry is a cornerstone member of our team at Gritt, from being one of the first participants at our unofficial camps ten years ago to lead coach at his home mountain @mtolympusnz - we are grateful for all the time shared as friends and know that the future of Gritt is in safe hands.

Earlier this year, after wrapping up leading our first outdoor and hunting skills camp, a product of his own conception. A piece of feedback, among some much more, will stick with us forever - “we need more Harry Cooksons in the world” and to that we agree

Thank you Harry for all that you are and do - and to the Cookson family who will be a huge part of Freeride skiing in Canterbury for generations to come.

That’s a wrap from us - we are grateful for all those that shared their stories and look forward to being back next year for another round of Freeride camps.

The most fun you can have on snow!

That’s a wrap for our @mtolympusnz Gritt camp, presented by @atomicski and @arcteryx and wow what a time we had!

There are always too many highlights to pack into a short snippet like this and we are grateful for the community that comes around these events. From the smiles and laughter to first backflips and fresh turns this one had it all.

Thanks to everyone who came out and took part in our camps this year, to all the parents who continue to create amazing opportunities for their children, to the staff that hold down the forts as the Gritters rampage through and all our supporters who help bring our dreams to life!

Day 2 of our Outdoors and Hunting camp presented by @yeti

With great weather and an early start to get up high, we were rewarded with some good opportunities to harvest a few hinds. The day covered stalking techniques, animal evaluation, and further firearm safety training, before finishing with a butchery session and lunch from the animals we harvested.

Day one of the Gritt Outdoor and Hunting Skills camp presented by @yeti

We were welcomed out @islandhillsstation and got stuck right into the learning. Day one focused on some core safety, navigation and game management skills that were put right into action that evening.
