There’s a lot more happening at Hartley than you might see on a trip to the Farm Shop or Kitchen.

Tucked away across the farm is a brilliant community of independent businesses, each doing their own thing, and making some pretty big moves along the way.

So, we thought it was time you met some of our neighbours.

First up, meet Mike from @game_changer_rugby 🏉

A former professional rugby player turned business owner and coach, Mike has made Hartley home to Game Changer Rugby – a space dedicated to helping the next generation of players develop their game.

We caught up over coffee and took the walk across the farm to find out a little more about Mike, the business he’s built, and life as one of our Hartley neighbours.

There’s plenty happening at this year’s Harvest Festival 🎃🍂

From hot dogs and seasonal snacks to pumpkin carving, forest school activities, marshmallow toasting and a bouncy castle – plus a visit from the one and only Patti the Pumpkin – we’ve got a full day of autumn fun planned here at the farm.

And that’s only some of what’s happening…

Our Harvest Festival takes place on Saturday 24 October, with plenty for little ones, grown-ups and everyone in between.

Happy Father’s Day from Hartley 💙

Today we’re celebrating the key dads on the farm, Rich and Tom, whose love for this land, the animals and the next generation runs through everything we do.

From early mornings in the fields to caring for our herd, it’s the people behind the farm who make the story. And of course, we couldn’t leave out Thistle… one of the biggest characters on the farm (in every sense!) 🐂

Hands up if your feed has turned unreasonably orange these past few weeks? 🎃🙋

You’ll miss it when everything turns into mince pies and fairy lights, so we’re making absolutely no apologies.

There’s plenty more orange to come: our Harvest Festival on Saturday 24 October brings pumpkin carving, forest school fun, marshmallow toasting and more. Then Pumpkins in the Paddock runs from Sunday 25–Saturday 31 October for half-term pumpkin picking and carving!

The new autumnal arrivals have, well, arrived! For added dramatic effect we thought we'd start with a deep dive into possibly the most seasonal of them all, the Pumpkin Patch pizza.

Roasted pumpkin, toasted pumpkin seeds, kale pesto base, crispy kale and mozzarella. It's delicious, trust us. 🍕👌

Afternoon tea has had its autumn glow-up 🍂

There are the classics: sandwiches, sausage rolls and warm scones with clotted cream and jam. Then there are a few seasonal favourites: toffee apple choux buns, plum and vanilla filo tarts and carrot cake.

Add a mini cheese scone with cheddar and tomato chutney, plus refillable tea or coffee (or some bubbles, if you fancy it), and you’ve got a very good reason to settle in for the afternoon. 🫖

Available daily 2-4pm. Bookings need to be made 72 hours in advance. by @hartleyfarm

October at Hartley is looking rather good 🍂🎃

We’re starting with wood-fired pizzas and live music at Friday Night Bites, then there’s music for little ones, a relaxed watercolour workshop and a whole lot of autumn fun as we head into half term.

🎃 Harvest Festival returns on 24 October
🎃 Pumpkins in the Paddock runs from 25–31 October
🏮 And we’ll finish the month with lantern making

Oh, what a night! ✨

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Tunnel to Table. We had an absolute blast.

The bees had other ideas about dinner in the polytunnels, so we moved under the pergola in the secret garden, and it turned out to be a pretty magical place to spend the evening.

Kate Collyn’s beautiful produce, Wayne’s delicious food and Dave’s cracking cocktails made it a night to remember. We can’t wait to get started on the next one!
