Currently on display @gnypgallery__ Antwerp.Bright Light Leaking Through The Window. Oil on linen. 160 × 120 cm (63 × 47.2 in). 2025Drawing on the tradition of the Rückenfigur (back-facing figure) in German Romanticism, I was interested in the tension between interior space and a longing for elsewhere. Throughout the exhibition, the sea appears as a recurring metaphor for distance, longing, and what remains out of reach.📷 @jan_liegeois #painting by @hartmann.christopher
