A few quiet moments from 'deeper the shadows, brighter the light'.

Although this residency is now over, I will continue to share images from the Open Studio and the final installation.

A fantastic time in Athens where I got to meet many of the wonderful people working the Urban ReLeaf project. Listened in on project updates, participated in workshops, interviewed city partners and went on a field trip to the National Observatory of Athens where I geeked out over rolls of spotty paper that document the air quality! #citizenscience #urbanreleaf #research #climate #releafcities by @hartofkatie

A beautiful literary achievement for @hartofkatie !

We’re so pleased to share that Katie Potapoff has a sequence of her poetry, ‘listening with the haar’, featured in Issue 117 of Cholla Needles, a wonderful literary publication based in Joshua Tree, California.

Guest edited by the brilliant Miriam Sagan, this new issue brings together an inspiring collection of writers, with artwork by Suzanne Sbarge.

Katie’s poetry explores the ambiguity and mystery of the haar, that familiar sea fog that rolls into Scotland.

Katie says:

“Thank you for the space on the page to experiment with the ambiguity that is the mysterious haar! I feel deep gratitude to share space with some incredible writers.”

Congratulations, Katie! We love seeing the work of our Collective members reaching new audiences across the world.

Cholla Needles Issue 117 is available to purchase online for $6.

It has been a couple of weeks since I folded away the speculative maps and restocked the ceramic pebbles of ‘Ambire,’ the installation I exhibited as part of Between Stone and Sun @the_mill_dundee

As the components of the installation were deinstalled, their relationship to the space shifted, and so too did mine with the places inscribed onto the gridded paper. I appreciated the time to deconstruct not only the artwork but my own emotions… and look forward to an opportunity to eventually reconsider these works in a new and different space in the future.

Until then, stay tuned for whatever might be brewing in the studio. by @hartofkatie
