A few months ago, @ameer asked me to help imagine a new direction for @Muslim. One that made room for the beauty, contradiction, style, humor, and humanity of Muslim life—not just the trite conversations, which we all find so exhausting…

If you know me, you know that my own relationship with Islam taught me how to ask those freakier, and more existential questions I love to ask.

Learning to distinguish what I’d inherited, from what I truly believed, became the blueprint for understanding so many other parts of myself.

This cover is the beginning of us exploring the role faith plays in the lives of some of the world’s most recognizable people.
