Billlie have spent years building a connected story across their releases, and cloud palace ~ false awakening lands as a clear turning point. In our new interview, members describe this moment with words like “awakening,” “honesty,” and “expansion”. They talk about closing the ‘palace’ series with a tighter emotional thread, then stretching one core feeling across different versions and genres.

The more interesting shift is what sits behind it: more deliberate structure, more attention to “emotional temperature,” and a stronger sense of creative agency as they prepare the next mini album. The message is simple – Billlie are widening their range, but keeping the emotional centre steady.

ARTMS in London felt less like a tour stop and more like entry into a world.

Opening night of Grand Club Icarus unfolded with club-floor logic rather than concert convention – DJ-led transitions, reworked tracks, and an atmosphere built on restraint as much as release. Silhouette lighting often arrived at the ends of songs, leaving afterimages rather than spectacle, while themes of descent, rebirth, and control threaded quietly through the set.

There was a sense of assurance in how ARTMS moved as a five-piece, chemistry reading as instinctive rather than performed. For a group whose recent history has been shaped by uncertainty, that confidence mattered. When the encore finally gave way to a closing screen reading Always Welcome to Grand Club Icarus, it felt less like branding than a seal – confirmation that this wasn’t just a concert, but a space deliberately constructed and briefly shared.
