Common Work & Peripheries: Re-working Our Cultural Ecosystem" brings together cultural practitioners, artists, collectives, and organisations working across different regions and contexts in Lebanon to collectively develop a roadmap on: "How can we build a cultural landscape in Lebanon where resources, knowledge, opportunities, and solidarity move in multiple directions?"

دبكة دبكة للأطفال ورشة حركة ورقص من ١٢ حصّة على مدى ٣ أشهر، نتعرّف خلالها إلى فن الدبكة وأشكاله المحلّية المتعددة من خلال تمارين وألعاب حركية وإيقاعية وموسيقية.

نستكشف من خلال الدبكة علاقة الأطفال بالحركة والإيقاع والتزامن والحضور والتركيب والسمع ضمن المجموعة.
تساعد هذه التمارين في توسيع الخيال الحركي وبناء القوة العضلية وتفريغ الطاقة لدى الأطفال بشكل إيجابي.

في هذه الورشة تجتمع المتعة والتسلية مع فعل الرقص الجماعي التضامني المتجذر في تراثنا الفني والثقافي كي تكون تجربة فردية وجماعية تضع الحركة والرقص في صلب الحياة وليس على هامشها.

Open Stage is a safe and welcoming space for anyone interested in live performance.
We are inviting you to a platform to experiment movement, performance, group improvisations or a very random idea you want to test and exchange with others.
Come with something prepared, something Unfinished, or nothing at all. The floor is open.

Beirut Physical Lab and The theatre coop in Beirut are joining forces to open a floor for theatre and movement experimentation.
Building on the experiences of Open رقص and اللقاء الفني المفتوح, we are presenting this joint program as away to come together professionally, socially and politicly.

Who can join?
Dancers
Actors
Comedians
Performance artists
Musicians
Clowns
Singers
Writers
(Anyone exploring with live performance, this is for you!)
You do not need to be a professional artist or have previous experience.

Participants can present a short performance or simply join the improvisation sessions.
Audience members are also welcome to participate if they decide to join on the day.

No previous experience is required, just bring your movement and authentic self!

أين تذهب النصوص حين لا تكتب؟
أين تذهب الكلمات حين لا تقال. تتنزّه وتتمهّل. نتمهّل. أحياناً تبقى في المنزل. تستحيل النصوص غير مكتوبة أحياناً لأننا نكون غير جاهزين بعد. تكون هي غير جاهزة للاستقرار في شكل نهائي. الكتابة نهائية جداً ونحن لسنا معتادين الاستقرار.
نكتب النصوص غالباً على شكل قصص. قصص نتناقلها من فم إلى فم كفعل إحياء. إحياءً للحياة. إحياءً للمقاومة. مقاومة النسيان والإخضاع والروايات المفروضة.

Anatomy & Movement: Introduction to Alignment Work

Alignment is the process of finding balance in the skeleton and connecting it through deep postural muscles. When all parts of the body are connected, movement becomes more efficient, allowing force to flow freely and space to open up naturally.
What to expect: This workshop will consist of dynamic alignment work and gentle stretching to soften unnecessary tension in the neck, shoulders, and hip joints, inviting a direct perception of how the bones move.
Rather than trying to « fix » the body, this work invites you to re-educate your nervous system. By slowing down and paying attention, you can create more efficient pathways for movement. It is less about changing your shape and more about updating the way your brain communicates with your body.
The goal is to explore moving with more ease and awareness and an opportunity to experience your anatomy from the inside out, rather than learning about it only when pain arises.
Who is this for? These practices are often used to support chronic pain management, improve posture, and enhance performance. They are particularly beneficial for dancers, actors, musicians and anyone with a movement practice—regardless of style or purpose.

This bodywork is informed by my experience with Klein Technique/Bartenieff fundamentals, Alexander Technique and Body-Mind Centering that have supported my work in dance and performing arts. Zeina Hanna is a Lebanese artist working in contemporary performing arts as a choreographer, performer, and dramaturg. Based in Berlin since 2010, her work moves between performance, choreographic exhibition, and research-based artistic practice.
