It’s been a while, but it was nice to be back on the mats competing last weekend in Sacramento. Decided to go up a weight class & ended up finishing 2nd in the gi and lost the first round of no-gi. More smesh to come🫡 by @hassaneldemerdash

Finally starting to get more and more comfortable competing and the results are starting to show …

With that said, that was the most nervous I have felt coming into a tournament but after my first fight I felt loose and relaxed. Next thing I know here I was 7 fights later.

Thank you to my teammates for coming up to visit and compete. Cannot wait to see you all soon 💪🏽♥️ #EDJFamily taken in Adventist Health Arena by @hassaneldemerdash

No way to sugar coat it, this time around I fell short and got absolutely dominated in the first round of Pan Ams.

At first I was devastated and almost thought that all this preparation went to nothing, but once I sat with it I realized that i really needed a loss like this to learn that I can’t always work on the things I enjoy doing. Sometimes I have to spend time working on areas where I don’t feel as comfortable if I really want to progress and evolve in this sport.

As much as this loss stung, I lost to the number one ranked guy in my division who ended up winning first place and there is no shame in that considering how long I’ve been training for. I will take this opportunity as a way to see where I currently stand and how much further I need to go to get to where I want to be.

Time to get back to work and start getting ready for the next one. I am now even more obsessed than before and ready to keep working.

Aside from that, I had a great time in my first visit to Florida and could have not spent it with a better group of people. I’m extremely thankful for the memories we made and excited to keep making more. Great job to everyone that competed this week in Pan Ams and in JJWL, proud of all of you and ready to get back to work tomorrow morning ♥️💪🏽 #EDJFamily taken in Silver Springs Arena by @hassaneldemerdash

Had a great time today at Jiu Jitsu World League. Did not get the result I wanted but learned a lot of lessons that will help me improve my game in the long run. Had some close fights that didn’t end up going my way but that will make those learned lessons even more memorable. Looking forward to working more on those weaknesses and getting back on the mats tonight!

Great job everyone else that competed today, wether it was with an injury or with no sleep you guys still showed up for yourselves and for all of us 🙌💪

Special thanks to professor JP, and all of my training partners for pushing me everyday and thank you professor Kim for being in my corner and guiding me through my fights. I love and appreciate all of you more than you can imagine ♥️ #EDJBeasts by @hassaneldemerdash
