🥘《ARAS》 I’ve recently been impressed by the name and logo of this tableware manufacturer (Ishikawa Prefecture). A new brand launched in 2020. ・It’s ‘SARA’ spelled backwards. ・The kanji of plate ‘皿（SARA）’ is turned upside down. Apparently, this embodies a strong desire to ‘turn the concept of plates on its head’. ② Made from a mixture of glass and plastic, it won’t break if dropped. ＊Both photos were borrowed from the internet. by @hatanoikuta

🍐《INAGI-Pear》 ①② This is a speciality of Inagi City, Tokyo. The pears are large and juicy. As they are difficult to cultivate and rarely appear on the market, they are also known as the〝phantom pear”. ③ A size comparison. The one on the right is a standard pear. ＊I’d really love to try it, but even it’s only available locally, so I haven’t had the chance to taste it yet.I borrowed the photograph from the internet. by @hatanoikuta

（①は宮崎産） ⭐️《Star Fruit》 A fruit that forms a star shape when cut open. It can be eaten with the skin on. ② It was described as〝a cross between an apple and a pear”, but it’s actually closer to a pear. It has a crisp texture and is very juicy. ③ It originates from South Asia. In Japan, it is cultivated in places such as Okinawa and Miyazaki(① is from Miyazaki) by @hatanoikuta

🇳🇵《Nepalese pouch》 This is a souvenir from Nepal that a friend brought me. The background is an Indian rug I’ve had for some time. Nepal and India… I found myself thinking there are similarities between the two regions. Inside was some Nepalese black tea. Now that I’ve finished the tea, I’m using it as a trinket pouch. ＊My heart goes out to those affected by last month’s mudslide disaster of such unimaginable scale. I offer my heartfelt sympathies. (Five months ago, I was given a souvenir) ②The Mithila region, which I featured in a previous post on traditional folk art, is safe. by @hatanoikuta

🪴《Million Bamboo》 I spotted this at a florist’s. 〝Eh! Is there such a thing as bamboo like this?”I thought, but it turns out it isn’t actually a type of bamboo. What a misleading name (Lol). ② Full view (photo from the internet). Apparently, it’s an auspicious houseplant that symbolises happiness, health and good fortune. It seems you can adjust how it curves by hand. by @hatanoikuta

私は「レシピ教えて」とは言わず「また作ってね」とリクエストしました（笑） 🍦《Three-Coloured Blancmanger》 A dessert made by Stepsister. Apparently, her mom used to make it for her when she was a child. She found the recipe at mom’s house and decided to give it a go for the first time in decades. She said her first attempt was a bit of a disaster, but the second one turned out perfectly, and she brought some round to my house. It came in MATCHA, milk and cocoa flavours. It was delicious. Instead of asking for the recipe, I simply asked her to make it again (Lol) by @hatanoikuta
