What an EPIC weekend! 🎬✨

So much talent, creativity, and giftedness under one roof. Every short film was impeccable, and the entire experience was filled with emotions that flowed like a river—deep, raw, unexpected, and absolutely mind-blowing.

Thank you, @bronzelens, for finding “In Search of Sanctuary” worthy of selection. Never in a million years would I have imagined seeing my life, my story, and pieces of my journey projected on a movie screen at a film festival.

Watching the clips and seeing images from my past brought me face-to-face with almost every emotion I carried within those still moments.

Seeing the faces of so many people who have passed on—people who loved me, poured into me, and rescued me in moments of my hidden fragility—was another powerful reminder of accountability. It reminded me that I am now standing on their shoulders with a responsibility to love, pour, and rescue.

@ebomba_ire, my brother… you are now one of the few people within my circle who truly knows Otis Damón, the man. Those six months of conversations were so much more than Q&A. They were therapeutic.

Thank you for your expertise, your gift, and for listening to that inner voice that told you this story needed to be told on a broader scale. This project was extremely heavy for me, but I knew it had to be shared—with the hope that it might create awareness, offer hope, and perhaps cause someone to pause before making a premature exit.

Donna, @tandireddick, @johnpruner, and the entire crew— CHEF’S KISS! 👏🏽🎬

I never expected an entire film crew, complete with craft services, when I agreed to do this project. 😂 Your professionalism, care, and gifts exceeded anything I could have imagined.

May every one of your gifts surpass even your wildest dreams.

And to everyone who supported this project—thank you. Your encouragement, presence, love, and support are appreciated more than you know.

This was more than a film.

It was a reflection.
It was accountability.
It was healing.
It was testimony.
And perhaps, for someone watching, it will be a reason to stay.

With gratitude,

Otis Damón

A full-circle moment. ✨👌🏽

Thank you to @theatlantan & @laurakadowney for this—not one, but TWO-page feature.

I’m usually moving too fast to pause and acknowledge the wins. The work gets done, the next goal is already calling, and I’m right back in rhythm.

But this one deserves a pause.

When I moved to Atlanta in 2013 from home (Hempstead, NY), I remember discovering Modern Luxury “THE ATLANTAN.” I was intrigued by the cover, the name, the world it represented. I remember thinking:

“Hmmmm…how do I get in here?”

I didn’t know the answer then.

Now I do.

Keep working. Keep evolving. Keep becoming. Keep placing yourself in rooms and spaces that align with who you are becoming.

Because I’ve never believed in forcing keys into doors that weren’t mine.

I believe the right doors open when purpose and destiny collide at exactly the right time.

And this moment? It feels like one of those doors.

Thank you, @laurakadowney, for being the person I was destined to meet that Saturday. Thank you @theatlantan for seeing and celebrating the work.

Today, I’m allowing myself to slow down long enough to take it all in.

Grateful.
Honored.
Excited.

Man I’m starting to ace this “Water Walking”! This new space I call “Blessed” is almost completed. This will be a safe space to create, educate, and heal through artistic therapy of millinery. I don’t really get excited but this one has me anxious. Stay tune for the transformation from a shell to an artistic shelter. ~HATMOGUL
