Thank you to @thealleychicago’s Mark Thomas for sharing stories of Hilly Kristal and the infamous @cbgbofficial last night in Chicago. I was fortunate enough to be one of 50 people in attendance to hear him speak of his firsthand experiences with Hilly and learn more about the history of it all.

CBGB’s legacy is such an important part of my identity even though I never got to stand within those piss-stained, sticker riddled walls. An ode to punk values and a reminder of the stories my late friend @tjmindplasmarichter told me about his time in New York.

I got chills watching everyone’s faces light up around me while they reminisced on the history of the venue and a few even got to see bands play back in the 70s. So fucking coooool! taken in Chicago, Illinois by @haunted.hillary

A bit delayed, but here’s my first submission for @retrosupply’s #frightfall2026 drawing challenge! I don’t get to draw as often as I’d like, but this one was fun. The prompt was “melt” for October 1st. Hopefully I have time to do some of the others!

I always told myself I’d never be the person that only posts once per month but, well, here we are. September was BUSY AS HELL. I’m entering peak introvert season, readers beware!

I’m insanely late to making my October movie watchlist this year, so tell me what I should add! I like a good mix of newer titles, campy B-Horror movies, anything 80’s/90’s, & plenty of sweet and whimsical feel good Halloween stuff. taken in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by @haunted.hillary

Have I posted some of these already? I dunno and I can’t be bothered to check. 😂 Summer went by so insanely fast I can’t believe it’s basically over.

I just hit 19 weeks of working out 3 days per week which is a new record by miles, and I must be insane because I just added a 4th day to my weeks. Lifestyle changes are difficult and exhausting, but hey! I’m proud of myself and if that’s the one thing I accomplished this summer then that’s enough for me.

Oh, and I grew strawberries! And my plants lived all summer! And I made some really big self employment milestones! And uhhhhh…oh I read 5 books this summer! Where’s my personal pan pizza? taken in Milwaukee, Wisconsin by @haunted.hillary

Opened my old Perks of Being a Wallflower book, who’s cover has random stains and signs of wear (but the pages are in pristine condition) to find a Woodman’s receipt from March 17th, 2009 at 9:12pm. Likely one of the last times I bought a Lizard Lava Sobe, a little relic that made me smile. I think I used to get the bright pink Strawberry Daiquiri one, if I remember right.

I thought this book from @fairislebooks when my grandparents lived on the island and I’ve kept it all these years along with my copy of Ethan Frome. I bought a couple more books when I went back last week and just finished the second one. Both five stars which has been really difficult to come across these days.

I needed a couple of good reads to get me back on track this year! by @haunted.hillary
