Dear, lovely people. On April 21 2026, almost my entire photo gear got stolen in Dublin. Among the biggest losses were my Arax 60 medium format camera, my polaroid sx70, a light meter, my self timers, & all my films & polaroids,... I cannot describe how heartbreaking it is for an artist to lose their tools so suddenly, without the means to replace them. My Arax camera especially was at the center of my creative process, and I had just gotten my newest sx70 (to start taking instant pictures again). I posted about this on my stories & many people reached out to me, saying they would be willing to help me recover from this. I’m forever grateful for your support that will surely get me through this. {A link to my kofi for donations is available on my profile & stories.} I know this may seem silly, in the grand scheme of things (especially with the world being on fire like it is now)β€”I realise that this is only material things that can be mostly replaced. It could be far worse. But I can’t help but grieve them. So I would greatly appreciate anyone’s support. If you would like a specific print of mine now is a great time to ask. As always, thank you. I see you in my garden every day, in the hellebores that lie there, musing in the soft light of my home. To K. β€”β€” I heard you. It was morning. I looked for youβ€”wings flapping outside my window, the curtains kissed by the light, below, below, my hands covered of the earth, below. A kind (of) wake up call. Can you still hear me? Echoing. It’s everywhere, all at onceβ€”March will keep stealing. Heart beats; watered down the throat with a pill. The air caresses. It should be a gentle day. It won’t be. I count… steps from the bed to the bathroom door. I count… Splashes on my face. I hate that I never could say goodbyes before. Hurry. I count… steps down the stairs, to the car. Down the shop alley. Can you still hear me? I want to make it march forever. Heart beats, beats, and I count… until 2 o’clock hit. I’m here. She’s here. Wake up. We’re here. On this day in 1818, Emily Brontë was born. Emily had left this earth long before I made an appearance, but she has shaped my universe from a very young age. I remember reading her poetry when I was a kidβ€”it made such an impact, it’s beyond words & I cannot explain it to this day. I knew I was different & awkward, and Emily’s soul through her words spoke to mine so deeplyβ€”I immediately felt that I had found a lost kindred spirit. I’m so grateful for the privilege of having access to her words early in life. They made me feel seen & less isolated just by existing, still. I guess you never know how life altering anything you create can be to someone elseβ€”to a stranger, decades or even centuries later. Live your life knowing that your life matters to someone or manyβ€”without realising it you might change someone’s life someday. β€” Happy birthday, Emily.
