This May, we volunteered at the @blmgreaterny Harlem #stoptheviolence block party, where community members from all ages and backgrounds shared free food, laughter over games, and great music.

In 2026 where hostility is increasing from the courtrooms to the streets of New York City and beyond, celebrating cultural roots while taking care of community members’ immediate needs is the priority.

We are excited to help community leaders like @newyorkvonni and @hawk.newsome who organize events like these.

The film will screen at the 72nd International Short Film Festival Oberhausen 🇩🇪 as part of the Children’s and Youth Film Competition, a space that feels particularly meaningful for this one.

I’m honored to see our film, the lyrical short, We Will Be Who We Are, premiere at the incredible NY African Film Festival @africanfilmfest at Film at Lincoln center @filmlinc ! It’s my second film with this amazing festival and I can’t believe I went from fangirling the festival to seeing my work slated🥲
