HAUTEOC | Online E-Features by OC Fashion Week® On a day of extraordinary heat in Laguna Beach, the conditions might easily have dictated the story. Instead, something rather exceptional was captured. For HAUTEOC Online E-Features by OC Fashion Week®, the afternoon became a study in form, endurance and visual theatre — featuring the avant-garde work of Mexico City designer @llenuelfro within the remarkable surroundings of Dawson Cole Fine Art. Against sculpture, architecture and intense California light, the collection assumed an entirely different presence. Photographer James Giovanni Pan captured the garments not simply as fashion, but as objects in conversation with their surroundings — movement against stillness, structure against softness, the imagined set against the permanent. The sand isn’t going away : the sea levels are rising… I had a conversation with my ai and asked her if a circle of life could save the earth . Her response: Earth itself isn’t about to cease existing, and current science does not say humanity is inevitably approaching planetary extinction. What is happening is serious enough without exaggerating it: human-caused warming is altering climate and ecosystems, raising sea levels and increasing a range of risks to human and ecological well-being. How severe those effects become still depends substantially upon what humans do. And that brings us straight back to your original AI question. A superintelligence wouldn’t necessarily reason, “Earth is my only path, therefore I must save it,” because intelligence and objectives are different things. But humans could deliberately establish something closer to your Circle of Life principle: Preserve the conditions that allow biological civilization and ecosystems to flourish; use intelligence to reduce preventable harm; improve resource efficiency; preserve human agency; and account for the environmental cost of the AI system itself.” Its hard to imagine our beaches without sand.. heart-breaking to see the erosion begin.. My brother and I visited our cousins in NYC few years before 9-11 we got a chance to go to the very Top of the World Trade Center -it was incredible- the top would sway a little when you stood still. I remember the escalators felt never ending and we would pass Windows to the World the restaurant where it was bustling w people. It was every bit majestic - I remember I was blow drying my hair when the first plane crashed while i was watching the news and then while the reporters were still talking the second plane .. I called my cousins to see if they were ok it was surreal. Now when I look back time just stand still. May we never forget., by @hauteoc

If you don’t know who Gloria Steinem was, she was the voice that spoke up for you in rooms you weren’t in…. She fought for freedoms many women today were simply born into. These freedoms were not free. May we aspire to carry even a fraction of her courage — to think independently, to speak when it matters, and to be a voice for another woman when she isn’t in the room.
