Ecology. Ritual. Mapping.

For TERRA 2026, our 4th edition following three years of engaging deeply with the Burgundian region, these three terms were chosen for how elementally they resonate with the context and how they may serve as jumping off points. A first glance shows how they reveal themselves quite naturally: TERRA being amongst UNESCO-heritage protected vineyards, the region’s history of Cistercian monks, and the careful parcelling of land and grape.

Rather than thinking of these terms as end points in their own right, though, this combination is conceived as an invitation to unpack the ways these prompts interweave with each other. What happens when they connect and combine? How can art, from the region but also globally, speak to these webs of interrelation?

Across the sites, from Beaune centre to La Folie, we consider how and where ecology, ritual and mapping meet. The fine balance between them, and how these new connections reveal perhaps new stories, as well as approaches to perceiving, experiencing and appreciating the region as a host of conversations.

Meet Edward – event and trip planner at Hautes Côtes🍷

Edward joined us in late May and was thrown straight into the action, kicking off his very first week with @montrachet.jazz Since then, he’s travelled across the Jura, Rhône and Burgundy with the team, including a very special lunch with our guests from Texas in the cellars of Domaine Génot-Boulanger. He also joined our rockstar somm team behind the bar at Pop et Hip Hop, getting a crash course in the unique rhythm of a @vinhiphop bar.

With a background in cultural and event management, Edward has worked across hospitality and even co-founded an artisanal microbrewery. Of English and Portuguese heritage, he studied in Montreal and spent several years in Paris before eventually making his way to Burgundy with his family.

We’re grateful for everything Edward brings to our growing team. We’ve asked him to share a few of his favourite local spots — swipe through for his recommendations 👉

A few days in Napa Valley visiting with friends old and new ☀️

We caught the end of a vintage and beginning of harvest bathed in sun. Still smelling the cedar, eucalyptus, pine, and wild sage from vineyard walks and tastings, and left deeply inspired by the incredible hospitality and passion of the makers here.
