October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we want every survivor in our community to hear this: we believe you, and you deserve to feel safe.

Domestic violence doesn’t always leave visible marks. It can look like control, isolation, intimidation, or someone making you feel small. If any of that feels familiar, you don’t have to figure out the next step alone.

For nearly 50 years, Haven Hills has offered safety, shelter, and support to survivors and their families. Our 24/7 Crisis Line is always open at 818-887-6589, whether you’re ready to leave, just want to talk, or are worried about someone you love.

Communication. Compromise. Never go to bed mad. 💜

The wisdom in this one is simple and it is real. We asked our community what they would want younger generations to know about love and relationships and this is what they said.

At Haven Hills we believe that healthy relationships start with how we talk to each other. Not with aggression. Not with silence. With words, with patience, and with the willingness to meet each other halfway.

This is what Domestic Violence Awareness Month is really about. Not just naming the harm, but building something better.

From handmade goods to resources, games, music, and so much more — every single booth added something special to this day. You helped us create a space where survivors and families could feel celebrated, supported, and surrounded by community.
