Not my will, But His will.

In March of 2023, God placed a vision on my heart to play Division I basketball. By every human standard, it seemed impossible. But I trusted the vision He gave me, knowing I serve a God who keeps His Word.
Today, I’m honored and grateful to announce my commitment to Oral Roberts University.
Thank you to my family for your unconditional love, wisdom, prayers, and sacrifices. You covered me with unshakable faith, believed in me when this journey was only a vision, and reminded me to trust God’s plan every step of the way. I wouldn’t be here without you.
Thank you to my skill coach and advocate who are and became family. As well as my coaches and teammates who pushed me, supported me, and helped shape me into the player and person I am today.

Jeremiah 29:11
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Lord, thank You for all that You are and all that You continue to be. You are the reason the vision You placed in my heart became the path I now walk. You are my firm foundation, and I know that with You, I will not be shaken.

I choose Him. 09-11-2026
A few years ago, I created a post with the song “Yet.” And at the time, it was a testament to my faith and a light in some of my darkest seasons. Looking back, I realize it was also a glimpse of what God already knew I would walk through.
The past few years have taken me to mountaintops I had once prayed for, but every mountain began in a valley I never expected to walk through. By faith alone, I left comfort and stepped into a life I had prayed for, only to be tested in ways I never anticipated. Somewhere along the way, I became tired, felt defeated, fell short, and slowly, the flame that once burned so bright began to grow dim.
Still Jesus never left me.
When I wandered, He remained. When I couldn’t feel Him, He was near. And when I thought I lost my way, He never lost sight of me.
In my darkest valley the lamp that lit my path was His voice all along saying,
“I’m not finished with you yet.” And He wasn’t.
On this day, I decided to rededicate my life to Christ. And what a privilege it is to be surrounded by a community that places Jesus at the centre, a team that points me back to Him and a school where His presence is woven into everything from the classroom to the chapel. To be in a place where I can worship Him, grow in Him, and be reminded of His faithfulness day after day.
By the grace of God my flame is burning again.
When I was lost, He came looking for me. When I fell, He never stopped reaching for me.
So today, I choose Him. In the valleys. On the mountaintops. In the waiting. In the becoming.
Jesus, be the name above it all.
I chose You then. I choose You now. And I will choose You, again and again. by @havenjosephh
