Mutual respect is very important when working with sharks, while you have to respect what they’re capable of, you also have to make them respect you back. If you’re presenting yourself and your body language as another apex predator, they will respect you. That’s one of the biggest reasons why you need to always swim with sharks with a reputable company that has high training standards.

Still buzzing from one of the most incredible experiences of my life. Getting up close with sharks in the waters of Hawai’i was absolutely surreal! 🌊
A massive shoutout to my safety divers and the entire team at @oneoceandiving. You guys are absolute legends! Beyond the unique thrill of the dive itself, I really want to highlight the vital work this crew does for shark conservation and awareness.
We’ve all seen the Hollywood movies, but being down there completely changes your perspective. Sharks aren’t the mindless villains we’ve been taught to fear. They are beautiful, calm, majestic and absolutely crucial to our ocean’s ecosystem.
Thank you for such an eye-opening adventure and for fighting every day to protect these misunderstood creatures. Mahalo! 🤙🌺

Slowly checking more and more shark species off my bucket list 😋
Thresher sharks are uncommon to see since they are a more pelagic species and seeing them in shallower water is even more rare. There are a few hotspots around the world where they can be seen, but on this island in the Philippines they are reliably seen year round at a certain dive site. This site is a natural cleaning station for them to have parasites removed 🧼
